who'd of thought that a few missions to act as a tutorial would cause so much fuss.
for all the newcomers one of the bigger problems Ryzom had was the old starter isles, they did little to encourage new players, who often left feeling confused, lost and lonely.
What we have now is a unified area, a very indepth explanation of how to play and some lore from the missions on the island. The mainland is the same as the island, its the same game lol. When you come to over it's now kinda assumed you can hold the right end of a sword, heal someone, etc, etc
There are loads of missions on the mainland, if you do them you will get to know an area well, learn where everything is, paths to travel safely, where the mobs are, gain fame with tribes and factions. What they most definetly are not are go slay the evil kipee of doom that drops a shiny +3 long sword that you can take and impress generic_fairy_prince(ss)
We make our own fun, Nevrax give us the means to do so with a world to live in
