Pero...... Hmm, that is very nice of you: just give Cats to player who will swear they will never attack your side becos you are too afraid of losing something....
1- "Community" it said, not faction, community is above factions, community is about players behind their screens, not about avatars ...
2- You might want to read again Acridiel post and take the non-combatant comment out pls..

I would like to see this thread remain a constructive discussion, rather than a battle. There's plenty of pvp in the game, and in other threads. There are some valid reasons for keeping a community distribution to non-combatants, just as there are good arguments for opening it to all homins not connected to outpost-controlling alliances. A discussion leaves the field open to talk about this, a battle pits various elements of the community against each other, something I'd think we want to avoid here?

In the interest of community building I ask that folks refrain from bickering and approach the topic in a noncombative manner. I'm sure the original poster would much rather have a constructive discussion than a locked thread :) Regardless of how ( or even if ) this idea comes to pass constructive discussion is what this community is famous for, let's not make the forum an unattractive place for newcomers to the game.

My concerns are targeted directly towards the non combatant, those who are opposed to PvP. I am hopeful that a way to get OP goodies to those who do not participate in OP fights can be found that has little to no factional politics. I have said repeatedly that I want to support a program that targets the nonpvp crowd. Yet you and many of those who say they support a "community" program for noncombatants seem to be adamantly opposed to having that conversation.
its not that we're opposed to having that conversation, its that you just excluded ALOT of people. there are what 400 players? and you want to make sure to exclude most.

its like my sig says, id bet you have free stuff from players who are kami and who are op-less. i dont know what the issue is with helping all players tbh.

i guess the best question is.

what dont you like about people who pvp and are opless getting cats?

if its 'they havent earned it' go destroy any gear you've been given by a neutral. you will understand what they have earned then.

so far ive read it will make players lazy, what are the other reasons?

to be fair ill list some good things about making it community based
- it sets the example that all of us can work together, even for the sake of our in-game enemy
- due to above it shows a better light to new players

I am excluding no one! I am asking for a distinction between those who PvP and those that do not. I am saying that if the distinction is made more resources will be contributed. I have never said the whole program needs to be for noncombatants. I have said that more people will contribute if they know it is going to a non combatant guild.

There are extremly few true "non-combatants" (I'v only known a few) Because almost all guilds will help defend there friends even if they never help in an attack.

There are however, Many who fight, But never have any hopes of getting an OP, Or never declare themselves...

From a military point of veiw, I see your point 100%, who would want to help their enemy get stronger... But guess what? This isn't the military. What this game used to be whenI first started, Was a big (albeit disfunctional) family, all playing together, sometimes we faught... but we'd always have eachothers back if we really needed it.

I realize those days are gone... And that will be mentioned in my final post near the end of this month.

did some math (had to get some help since i dont know much aobut ops)

17 stacks made a day per op
30 days in a month
28 ops
400 active players

17 x 30 x 28 = 14280
14280 / 400 = 35

so if everyone was given equal share of cats (at the level they need them obviouslly). that would be 35 cats a month per player on this server.

perspective
- theres a guy who gets 3 stacks a day (no hes not kami)
- i get 2 stacks a week
- some players get what they can when they can.

cats are not as rare as some would have you think.

id be perfectly willing to live with every player getting 35 cats a month.

brave stopping the community op program didnt break anyones trust, its actually pushing kami and kara to try to make something together to help the community (even pero's statements help once he explained them lol) .
