Amongst other things, to give players/homin as much chance to act as their conscience/desire drives them to.
Some may wish to heal the fallen of either side.
Some may wish on an OOC level to rez people who have fallen to kinchers to spare them DP.
Some may wish to disrupt and/or prevent the fighting (if you're going to allow people to impose fighting the opposite should also be true.
At present you're artificially restricting choice.
rushin wrote:i am possibly missing the point here but, its a faction zone, there are faction PvP rules that seem to work pretty well as far as i can see. neutral isnt a faction, its the rejection of them. i am all for neutral homins being non attackable but they have to also accept they can have no impact on the fighting by healing as well. To have it any other way negates the point of a faction conflict zone.
Yes, its the rejection of them, but you're currently forced and pigeonholed, which dictates a massive amount of what you can do. The wider the choice, the better and deeper the game, allowing characters to act as individuals.
In a previous post you stated it would be nice to play a merc role and switch sides at your choice. Surely that is easy to do. I assume you have very low kami/kara fame (being neutral) in which case you can swap your faction in 10 minutes by fighting tribe harvesters or villages.
One can hold a faith without being a nutbar fanatic. One can be a catholic without being a member of the inquisition (for example
) Besides which, wanting high racial fame can and does have a fairly big impact on faction fame too.
It would be better to be able to just choose, though there is a good argument for having to 'prove' yourself first, it makes it difficult to RP a change of heart or a revelation.
