Personally I like that option better just make sure the same goes for the AoE nukes. If we must have PvP make it so that you can't just hit space and start throwing those AoE nukes around. Make people think just a tiny bit about where thy're aiming and what spell to use...

I'm glad to see that the region restriction has been removed for foraging. But I am disappointed that you cannot use the terrain spec of your choice when digging unless it is Desert, so there is still an advantage to being a high level desert digger. The terrain spec allows you to dig with less careplanning.

why?

i am possibly missing the point here but, its a faction zone, there are faction PvP rules that seem to work pretty well as far as i can see. neutral isnt a faction, its the rejection of them. i am all for neutral homins being non attackable but they have to also accept they can have no impact on the fighting by healing as well. To have it any other way negates the point of a faction conflict zone.

In a previous post you stated it would be nice to play a merc role and switch sides at your choice. Surely that is easy to do. I assume you have very low kami/kara fame (being neutral) in which case you can swap your faction in 10 minutes by fighting tribe harvesters or villages.

Amongst other things, to give players/homin as much chance to act as their conscience/desire drives them to.

Some may wish to heal the fallen of either side.

Some may wish on an OOC level to rez people who have fallen to kinchers to spare them DP.

Some may wish to disrupt and/or prevent the fighting (if you're going to allow people to impose fighting the opposite should also be true.

At present you're artificially restricting choice.

Yes, its the rejection of them, but you're currently forced and pigeonholed, which dictates a massive amount of what you can do. The wider the choice, the better and deeper the game, allowing characters to act as individuals.

One can hold a faith without being a nutbar fanatic. One can be a catholic without being a member of the inquisition (for example :) ) Besides which, wanting high racial fame can and does have a fairly big impact on faction fame too.

It would be better to be able to just choose, though there is a good argument for having to 'prove' yourself first, it makes it difficult to RP a change of heart or a revelation.

ahh choice ;-)

as gamers we like the idea of non-linear gameplay, feel that that we can do something unexpected and the game will adapt to it. But really by their very nature computer games have a mandate to severely restrict player choice. How that fact is hidden is whats important.

we have to make choices in this restrictive enviroment, but also understand that ultimate freedom is not a good thing. It's nice to believe it would be fun but it wouldn't be. the game (any game) needs to be steered at some level.

that's i imagine one of the big differences between what you do, on a tabletop with a live gm, and what Nevrax have to do, where everything has to be considered and coded in advance.

* The Desert foraging restriction on Episode 2 will also be removed,
thus allowing any forager to harvest with his highest harvesting skill.

Half baked buggy change. The desert specialization still has an impact both on the prospection and on the extraction action  (yes, do the desert spec! there is a difference). I'm too lazy to go fetch the link with the wonderful patch process "again"

Annoying, but no honour points.
So... not that much of a problem.

Total Joke on the Forage exp now

You shouldve based the skill requirement (stanza lvl) and exp gained by the Terrain used in the specilisation (if any or highest lvl otherwise)

So with the Forage exp issue and the injustice to Zorai and Kami aligned Tryker (given by the Karavan wrong terrain Temple bonus) its another realy badly thought out patch, you should try to fix the actual problem instead of making things worse

The terrain is desert so u should get desert xp. stop.
After ppl have cried as usual like childrens Nevrax done worse with the new nonsense system so... I vote for re-have desert terrain... if Nevrax and all players can't really accept this then I agree with the Petej suggested system.
Get xp for your high harvest skill only is totally nonsense; so nonsense for nonsense let's at least choice in which tree u wanna get xp by the terrain specialization used.
