buupi wrote:I think map design is not a issue. In a time ye learn routes to navigate everywhere in witherings. I think it's just same to Matis (witch is another bit mazey land imo). In low lvl area it's not more confusing than Matis one i think (and ye dun have to fear that ye fall off from those cliffs) =)

I think in race issue most of ppl choose their first character according to backround story of game. Mayby Matis ones are too tied up to old "Elf" models and that why race is so popular... or then they just want to play girlie :P

Issue of Zorai avatars seem to annoy some homis, usually ones that are not Zorais. I'm not sure if to what this is related. Is it not being monkey, not being girly or not being midget?

In whole game time i've played i've never thought that Zorai is underpopulated. There are plenty of Zorais, new ones pop in and old ones leave. That's circle of gamelife.
When new ones come in, best way to get company is to join guild and stop moaning about teams. Guild usually provide network of friends to hunt, explore or do things together. Why there should be 100's of new ones around capital city to seek team?

Seems that this issue pops here in board every now and then.

/IC This is prolly just evil scheme of Matisians to control Zorai population, so beware everyone./IC

As far as the map goes, they need SOME way to make up for the lack of aggro crawling up your butt straight out of the city gates, right?

Mask, blue, mystic, all jungle icky... It put me off at creating my first toon. Made a fyros but he was a weirdo that couldnt craft and Frydeswinde was born after a week of messing around in Pyr.
Matis were ugly anyway, no discussion there...

Translation for Jayce;

"I say, the Trykers were the first to be chosen by the Kami. That is until we made a mistake and aligned ourselves with the Karavan. This just goes to show that even large groups can exhibit the sense of a Yubo. Instead of learning to stand on our own two feet, we traded one crutch for another. Pish!

As far as mazes go, I like them, and I wish that there were more. They are a fitting challenge for someone who is in the habit of attiring themselves in focus equipment. A lot more suitable than finding a large animal blocking your preferred route, or inhabiting the land you desire to dig."

vinnyq wrote:So why do you guys think Zorai is the least populated race?

I might be wrong here but in the past Zorai has always been quite deserted.
On Windermeer before patch 1 Zorai was the 2nd most populated race after Matis. There were hordes more Zorai than Trykers up until then, and even more Zorai than Fyros.
Is it:

The naming?
I really don't think so
The map design?
I think this has a lot to do with it, plus it is hard for new Zorai to get anywhere since they have to pass through the prime roots... something only veteran players can do.
The weird avatars?
They seem to actually appeal to a lot of people looking for something less human looking. Until other issues drive them away from Zorai or the Ryzom.
Perpectual underpopulation caused by underpopulation? (i.e. most zorai leave zorai once they're more advance to hang out at other civ because it's more populated)
I think this is a big problem. Ryzom is a community based game and there simply is no community nor incentive to have one in Witherings.
The setting? (wet dark icky jungle)
Isn't bad in its own right, but it does lack content.. i.e. the Matis arena, Lakes, etc. It gets repetitive and even the hidden areas have no reason to really discover them.

The deadends? HAHAHA. hate ded ends >.<
no no no, ur really wrong there. There is a great community in the witherings, u need to come sit under the tree by the stables it's where all the action is ;p

hmm, re-reading that and it sounds sarcastic but honestly it isnt :)
