Cerest, I am not a computer expert, but isn't the purpose of a back-up server to run when the main one is down AND VICE VERSA? What good is a back-up server if it cannot run without the main one, or a main server if it canot run without the back-up.. it sounds to me you need a new host and tech support company 'cuz these guys are clueless.

Don't they have any disaster recovery plan in place to restore a server within two hours like most serious business do? Especially a server so prolific... or maybe they are not a serious business... Think about it.

btw that is how my Back-up harddrive works =) i edit Video so....

Uhg.. it seems I have better redundant backup systems at home than nevrax has LOL
4 UPS's, running 3 active servers, with a 4th on the standby ups, SQL replication with SQL master resassignment on fail, all with RAID 10 controllers (mirrored RAID 5 arrays). And thats my HOME servers......

Shhhh! Don't confuse them any more than necessary. They already have server issues. Now you wanna use BIG words.
