I'm not taking sides in the exploit vs. no exploit argument, I can see both sides. I do feel, however, that it is too easy to be tricked into paying way more than than you should for items. The example cited where an extra 0 is added to the end of the price of one stack of mats (right between similar stacks of mats) is a good illustration of this.
My suggestion would be to slightly change the game mechanics, so that when you buy stuff, a warning comes up if you offer to pay more than some amount (say 10X the vendor price) asking you to confirm before you buy. That way people could still pay outrageous prices for stuff if they wanted to, but at least they would realize they were doing it.
It shouldn't be so easy to "accidentally" spend 4 million dappers. It takes newer players a very long time to earn their money.

nothing is wrong with that. Although when shjpping for mats, i have my filter set to 500000; so the stacks over it simply not shown to me. And i dont really buy anything below 90 items in a stack.

Ummm if you take an item off the vendor you can place it back for sale for antoher 7 days - wont work
xcomvic wrote:i see everyone views on this... but remember you can only put things on a vendor for a limited time... unless you buy them back and then just put them back up for resale...ahhhhh... yea, i see it as a measure to con the system, but what are apartment good for now anyway? Other than storage.... can anyone give me a good reason for an apartment other than storage?

And that is a very intelligent way to do it. Problem is, many newer players don't realize that there is a way to filter prices (or a need to do so).

Correction you have to use filter not to avoid bing conned but to help your own eyes. When you cross a road, do you look around to make sure the cars are not coming or do you blindly stumble across?
nathan7 wrote:I agree with jackmor.... Keeping mats on a vendor at 10mil dapper a piece is not an attempt to sell things. Its obviously a way to store materials and saving space at the same time (EXPLOIT!). Doubletap, you do sell items at 5000% mark up yes, and you dont make deals, correct as well. But how many people do you see selling Living bucklers at a vendor for 4mil dapper? None! Why? I'll tell you why. Its because they are actually trying to sell them and not keep them up on a vendor so they can snatch them when they are ready to use them.
Yes, if someone bought them by accident that is their fault. But I see he did state that he is fine if he does not get his money back as it was his own fault. Personally I do think that it is a shame that we 'have' to use a filter not to get conned. Yes, this is an exploit and I have heard that devs will be looking for these stacks priced at an ungodly amount and destroy them.

I have no problem with that as long as I get the proceeds.
Hmm... something is wrong with your logic.
jackmor wrote:Ive got a better solution. Sellers have to buy back their mats at the price they but them up for sale.

Rather you're saving your eyes or just trying not to be conned.....it....is....an....exploit. It's that easy. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Do you really think the people who have 99 supreme pr fibers going at 10mil for one mat is trying to make profit? LOL, You have some issues if you do. I'm sorry the ignorance in this thread saddens me. Its an exploit.
Edit - Yes you can take mats off of a vendor for the same price the vendor paid for them. Only to turn around and put them back up for another 7 days. That also works for anything else to put up for resell.

This is not cheating, this is using a loophole to your advantage - when was the last time you filed taxes? The new year is coming, dont forget to be as honest with Federal Govenrment as you are here.
Not at anyone in particular -
I truly can not stand when people have double standards when it suits them. If someone is trying to tell me that all those people that flamed me here are being honest and never use loopholes - that person is a liar; otherwise - what is the difference between finding loopholes in Courts, Taxation and other Real Life stuff vs. finding a loophole within the game? Everyone became very righteous I see.
Ahhh. We have a break through. It good that you admit its wrong. LOL jk
But you do know its not right. Its not what the vender system is for. Anyway the fact is that its a problem. No one should have to use the system for storage. It shows the game is flawed. Its hard enough to forage and craft already. Then they make it even harder with the crappy storage system. I mean, come on, this is bad, when you have to do things like this to play the game with some ease.
You cant find decent armor or weapon because they make it too hard to level forage. People useing the vender system to hold storage is a terrible show of bad game balance and poor planning.
My advice to the devs is, get this game together fast or you wont have any customers. This week we lost three members of our guild. Not to other guilds. They lost interest in the game. They were not the first to go either. All who left said they liked the guild and the people but the game was not interesting any more. They were almost all players from beta days. The truth is alot of player that have been on for awhile are tired of waiting for the devs to get there stuff together. This is a perfect example of that.
