Time to move on. Time to get going. What lies ahead we have no way of knowing.
Work that patch, people! Work it!

Not really too similar, IMO. In the election you had two choices, and it was clear one of them was going to win. Here, you vote with your dollars. There are many many MMO's....furthermore, you have the choice not to play any MMO. The government can and will force you to pay taxes, whether you like the president or not. Nevrax, on the other hand, cannot force you to pay their fees. Either they make the game fun, or players will leave, and they collect no money from those who leave.
Hopefully, there will be a few people left to "work" the patch as you suggest.
I just cant believe that they pushed this patch out. They KNEW from the feedback that it was going to cause tons of people to be upset. They changed the games entire dynamic so much that the game play is totally different then the game we origonaly bought, and by doing so are losing customers. They knew about some of the biggest bugs, i know that for a fact because I reported some of them myself. For instance, loot on packers being stuck, the fact that magic amps didnt give exp in the crafting tree.
They knew that these issues were there and with no reguard for the players, threw us into the middle of them. They nerfed packers, nerfed missions, did everything in their power to bring progress in the game to a halt. Now im not going to say they didnt fix some things, but their focus was primarily on the wrong things. They didnt solve the lack of content, nothing at all for guilds, or even single players to do. What else are people supposed to do other then level?
I'm EXTREMELY upset about all of this. It can all be fixed, but the method they used is very unprofessional and down right sloppy. Since when is it ok to put paying cunstomers in a broken game? You dont buy a car thats broken off the lot. Stores dont sell broken stuff for full price, but I dont see us getting dicsounts for the broken patch were paying to play.
Many of you have voted your oppinion in the [ONLY] way the company owners listen and thats with your cash. Too much competition out there for them to being doing all this really stupid stuff.
The devs better start displaying an understanding that if the players dont like the game, it dies. It dont matter that it follows some persons grand plan, if it sucks people dont play it, if its not fun people dont pay.
I hope with everything in me that Nevrax wakes up and does something to fix people leaving the game, we already dont have many people playing, Guilds wont be doing much if they have 2 people in them.
Good Luck Nevrax
P.S. You should really treat your GMs better. You stick them in the game, and tell them to be the complaint sponges for the players, and you dont provide them with info, tools to help players or even the persmission to do so. Its bad when a player learns that the ATS server has live chars on it and the GMs have no clue. How many times do you think a customer is going to get screwed over by all the absolutly overwhelming number of bugs in your game, and still be willing to pay you for that kind of experience. You dont take responsibility for your own mistakes you make the players take it all. Not once have I ever seen anyone in my guild ever be helped when they lost something because of a bug in your game, and they have absolutly no fault in.
Examples...
1. I myself lost 200k in beta due to a server stall, I was told tuff luck.
2. My guild member lost 3 hours worth of lvling and respawn points to other lands due to the guild hall log out roll back bug, which you guys knew about, yet you told people to log out in them anyway instead of taking the 2 mins needed to avoid that happening to people and moving them to a safe place.
3. The respawn points vanished for people after a patch and people were STRANDED in other lands and you offered NO help what so ever to get them back to their lands.
4. The Torbaks in the Hidden Source and other areas had mass overlapping stink effects and when people died they could not be healed due to being classified as a corpse. The GMs were not allowed to help the players return to the group when they had to respawn in town, forcing them to miss the guild trips. It was no fault of their own that they could not be healed but they again had to bare the responsibility for your lack of it.
5. My guild member had a packer that was dead and with this patch, she was told by the GM to free the packer to get rid of it and she could buy another one. So she stables her other 2 packers and then walks across town to the dead packer where everyone logged in with their packers and right clicks on it, and clicks "FREE". At that time the packer in the stable vanishes losing 48 hours worth if foraging materials. Still no response from the GMs on this, do I expect her to get any help whatsoever? No. Simply because you have never helped anyone before. Why start now.
My patience with your company and the lack of ability to operate in a prefessional and ethical manner is wearing thin. I will not support a company that does not support me, or in this case its customers. Why should anyone pay you to ignore them, and do the exact opposite of what we ask.
I'll never get a response to this post by any official because they have no leg to stand on. I lead a guild that is comprised of mostly professional adults and our tolerance for unacceptable beheivor like this has reached its limit. Just today I had the 3rd person cancel their account. I'm stating right now that if things dont shape up, I'll be looking for us a new home.

Doctor Z.
Yup, about as clear as mud. You also have two choices here - play or don't.
Actually, everything is about money in the bigger picture of life. No one suggests forcing anyone to do anything here. It's just a game, after all.
Just MHO. I'll pay and I'll play till my hubby and I find a better game to play. Ain't America wonderful? Nevrax will do what it wants to for as long as they want to do it. All gaming companies are like that. It's the individuals that make the gameplay worthwhile. And, so far, this is a much more mature community than most I've dealt with. The patch is a shock to the system of the community. But the community will adapt and make it better.
A month or two ago, City of Heros got a patch that suddenly made the game a LOT harder. A lot of people complained and said they were quitting. Whether they did or not, I don't know.
Cryptic saw the problem and corrected it. The game is fun again.
If you've been enjoying Ryzom, cancelling on the day of the patch just seems to be potentially cutting off your nose to spite your face. Why not wait a week and see if the devs react to all the angst and dial the difficulty back down a bit (and I agree with those who say its way too high now).
Thats what the test server is for - getting out bugs and balancing things - Nevrax wants the game like it is post patch - thats their call - I've made my call.

That's Old Nim's advice to the young'uns.
I would agree, if Nevrax had not been making these mistakes since release. How long do we have to play the game with all these bugs. They find time to do a LOT of things, properly testing their patches isnt one of them. Now im not to short sighted to notice all the great fixes they have in this patch. The problem with these fixes is the game should never have lanched with them.
Why is it they feel we need to take 1 step forward and at least with this patch 200 steps back?
Me personally, I have never used blind and i leveled so fast to 94 that I was under the impression, until recently, that everyone was leveling at the same rate. In this regard, the game needed to be harder, but damn, not to the extent of this patch.
@everyone
The game is mechanically different. It's not the way people perceive the game that has changed or made the mobs more difficult. I'm always surprised by the number of folks who will argue that 'physical' changes in mob capability are the result of how you view the game, lol.
There is a lower level poster (melee 50ish) who says he can solo just fine. There is a level 160+ melee who says the same thing.
This game is not difficult. It's very simple in the way things work, even now. So why is it when I try to solo as a low-mid level melee, I get my ass kicked?
I'm curious what the difference is between those that can, and those that can't. As I posted before, I am pure melee, no skill in any other lines.
For SP expenditures I have IncDmg, SH-HP and SH-STA, all to highest version for my level (Const 19 for example). The only other thing I've done (since I'm being conservative) is max out Const,Sta, and the regens for both, both maxed.
I use QL100 heavy max HP armor (HP @1580)
I use QL100 Pike max dmg
What you guys got? If you can recommend something that's working I'll resubscribe right now and try it.

There seems to be an element of the NA gamer community at large that is SO ready to cut and run when the game isn't EXACTLY what they want it to be. Just like the real world, you don't always get your way, even when you are paying for something.
So true, take the American divorce rate for example ... what is it, 70% LOL
Same mentality here, people don't want to work at things, games are throwaway items ( just like marriages ) when it isnt exactly what you wanted. How selfish.
Real programmers don't die... they are just too busy playing games!
