Also, it might be encrypted twice. First with one encryption, then that code encoded again with a different encryption.

This is driving me nuts.

Another thread dealing with the messages.

It is obvious that the latest message use more advanced encryption than the previous ones*, they must finally have found a homin to help them with that task.

Cracking the code would be interesting, but the effort doesn't seem to be worth it to me.
Consider the previous messages and their content, I would venture that the latest one is about the same.

* For instance note the similarities with message 4 and the unsolved one here (scroll down to around last half of the page).
Just an example of what more complex encryption can look like, even if it just say "hello world", another example is PGP/GPG.

The last letter overheard at Fairhaven Stables:

Shekry

I have a mission for you. It shall be of great importance over the coming days and weeks that you fulfil it to your best.

You know of the four homin peoples who have recently settled far from here after the kitin invasions. I wish for you to infiltrate their ranks and learn all you can.

Be careful however, it is understood the kami and karavan have a presence in this region; they are not to be trusted.

The reason I have chosen this time for your mission is because of an opportunity that has arisen.

It appears there may be a war soon between the factions of these homins; this would be a good time to strike.

It is unlikely they know of us as we know of them, they are far from us and will know little of our nomadic lifestyle. They obey petty laws and will soon fall into slavery as we shall crush them as we do all in our path.

We shall focus on Fyros and Matis first; once they have fallen the other races will be weaker to the final blow.

I am sending the throat cutter clan, they shall arrive shortly after you do and set up a presence in the region.

Learn all you can and report back to them so they can prepare for an attack.

I expect nothing less than your best on this one Shekry, if you fail me your life will be forfeit.

Damn and i kill my self trying to decrypt this one :D . After loading it into a editor there where 5 rows of 51 chars and one additional word per row. And there was one single standing word. This looked like a twice encrypted modula 26. I tried different ways but did not get anything that would make sense.

Now i counted the chars of the enrypted and the decrypted message and the decrypted has about five times more chars in it. So they used compresion also ;) .

Those little basta... must have stolen this knowledge from the Karavan :D

I am really curious if this message was decryptable without a computer ?

Two different letters, the 4th one is still not decrypted on the forum and was from the Cutthroat event (a few days ago).
The new uncoded one (5th, but would appear to be written before number 4) is from Fairhaven event (last night, if I am not mistaken).

That was message 5, message 4 is still proving an Enigma to the homin races.

Aha! A hint. ;)
I tried using the Enigma cipher machine, but I couldn't figure out how to obtain the initial rotor settings. At least I now know where to concentrate my efforts. :)

Just from top off the hat, how about trying MBV (is any letter missing in the ciphertext - original enigma had some flaws with that...)
