But, I think folks are disappointed that this will take many months to implement and we would like some new content now. The Outposts will be fun for those who like PVP or GVG, but the rest of us have no new content to look forward to in the forseeable future.
I've played games with Outposts SWG and AO both allow their creation, expansion, arming, attacking and retaking. Very soon people tire of the time(especially time) and expense it takes to "make war" and they become nothing more than gloried guild halls. Many of us would much prefer a new land with new mobs and challenges, R2 may give these, but not anytime soon.
I'm 'not a fan' of PvP.
I think it brings out the worst in people and the increasing tendency towards PvP in Ryzom concerns me. PvE makes for better plots, less bruised egos and less people being w*nkers and spoiling the game for everyone else.
Outposts however should give us bonuses, give us somewhere to call 'ours' and somewhere to RP with. That's all a good thing in my opinion, I see it as a way to grow and alter the land with our choice of buildings and to individualise our guilds.
That side of it is what appeals to me.

I'm not saying that outposts are a bad thing. Done properly they are something to be proud of. I just think of them more as a desert than a main course. Where's the Beef?

Just a side note, for the fyros that keeps saying about us haveing to pay to play the content that we made... that charge is, more likely than not, just for the guy that made it, kinda like paying someone for space for a web site and an e-mail address. the rest of us, who are useing his land and content, it's as free as the rest of Ryzom, or atleast, the price is already included in the monthly bill.

PS: how do you get it to recognize this as HTML, and not just text?
use [ URL]link[ /URL], without the space after the [
http://www.akavaq.com/infinity/
or the fancy one [ URL=link]text[ /URL]
