So what is it about this game that won't let me stop paying a monthly fee? I honestly can't come up with an answer.
1. Graphic
2. Skills (also action / stanzas) system
3. Forage system (different action / stanzas very affect play style)
4. Craft system
4 a) Each specifical order for armor - sort of challenge.
4 b) Collect all mats and try make recipes for eg. armor, with specified in priorityorder, stats
4 c) Endless combinations/recipes, where each one mat, affect result.
5. Potential
....

I think you will find the majority of players want more story stuff. Personally I don't want to see more lore and history pages on the website. I want to see for lore and history information in game.

The first patch pretty much screwed everything up. The second patch on all account was a flop (the only thing it added was mounts). In the six months since it started there really only has been a few events that were noteworthy. Currently there are only a few quest/missions. The faction system is useless. The storyline is absent. The few times In the past 3 months I have logged in a handful of times, none lasting more than a few minutes due to lack of interest. I've played other games such as EQ2 and The Matrix Online both of which I enjoyed. Yet I still have my subscription to Ryzom and can't bring myself to cancel. So what is it about this game that won't let me stop paying a monthly fee? I honestly can't come up with an answer. All I know is that everytime I go to cancel something stops me.
I tend to say: It is not about Ryzom. Its more about you.

Sometimes i curse my mouse, my flatscreen, my keyborad, but more then once i realized that its just that the game wants more then i was able to give :D

And a serious reason for me: no bl**dy elves, dwarves, undead skeletons, orcs or similar Tolienesque features! <g>
I refuse to play a game with elves in it !!

The absence of 'leet' kiddies, or just the impression that SoR is for the 'more sophisticated and mature' gamer -" Of course we dont have as many players as WoW, they're all idiots"
beautiful graphics are standard these days, but Ryzom is Glorious!

Someone on another thread, so time ago, said .... it would be nice if there was birds in the sky!

I said in reply, there where already, but I couldn't remember where I have seen them.

I remembered ....... Virginia Falls, Stand on the top of the falls and look either east or west .... 'There in the trees, their comming!' Kate Bush

Pink flamingoes flying in the distance during thunder storms in Matis.

haha, sor went from 7.3 to 7.4 in a day at mmorpg.com

I just put in my review giving it an overall of something close to 8.0, I don't remember the exact number . Let's see if it will move up to a 7.5 with all of us going there and giving a fair review.

There's plenty of good things in this game but for me it is the skill-based advancement and the community that make it special.

If i get bored of nuking things I can swap with someone and heal instead. One of your team members leaves, doesn't mean you have to find a replacement, you can just shuffle player roles. Your nuker dons her armour and becomes your main tank, etc, etc. Get bored of killing things? Then go dig and craft.

Rather than being stuck as a "priest" or a "paladin" I can be some or all of each!

The community? Well i'm not sure why its so good. Maybe the gits and 1EET players get ignored and go elsewhere.
