The numbers at the Woodburn Stronghold battle fluctuated quite a bit and my counting of the Karavan was somewhat complicated by being killed by them a lot while trying to count.

Ahhh, that's what you were doing there, in front of us: counting... I understand it now all :)

Hehe, good to see your faith at least partly restored Wolfies. This is Xol, i presume im the 'other new member' who was shocked into quitting. Well just to let everyone know i thought it over and now im more determined than ever to join the Kami in forging a new age of victory. The numbers from last nights battle (wish id been there) do seem to be indicating the start of a change, we all just have to pull togeather and fight for this.
However, after almost being driven to quitting what i will say is (and i know it probably echoes 50 other posts) it would be nice to see a bit less aggression from the Karavan and a bit less in return from the Kami. As many people have said, its just a game, its a brilliant, incredibly involving game, but still just a game. Lets play it for fun people. If your going to mock and be offensive then at least do it in an RP sense and keep your real oppinion neutral, because as soon as one person brings real nastiness or anger into the game it seems everyone just goes off and explodes. Just my oppinion anyway, so everyone try and remember it before theres any more verbal conflict in another battle. I for one have made my decision and will stay alongside KoO and fight until the end, for both Kami support, and for a better Ryzom overall.

Nice job, last night or early morning or whenever, kamis :) . Credit given where credit is due. It is not meant to be taken as anything other than just simple congratulations for a job well done.

But the counting, on either side, serves what purpose? If it's for morale boosting, I can understand. If it's to prove that the kami do have the numbers when they choose to use them, I can understand. But given the fact that neutral and non-allied guilds participate when they feel passionately over a particular OP battle, the numbers are inherently unreliable.

And what difference do the numbers make for any one OP battle especially given different timezones and the fact that not all of us can be there for every battle, for whatever reason? Any other purpose just continues to fuel this endless forum debate over the issue of OPs, but perhaps that is the purpose of the number exchanges?

I don't even care if we can't all get along over the conflict and our individual place in it. It's the nature of the beast when conflict is inherent between opposing factions with neutral and non-allied guilds, on both sides, thrown into the mix for extra spice. Conflict and extra spice, of whatever flavour, for adults, in an mmorpg, is a good thing, imho.

"But, honey, you just don't understand, this game has everything including some thinking, reasoning adults who feel passionately about the story, no matter which side they are on. I'll take out the trash, later." (non-gender specific) :D

These are my opinions, they don't have to be yours. No offense is intended and my apologies in advance if any is taken.

Earlier in this post someone put up a "count" to demonstrate a point and the validity of the count was challenged. I believe the point was that Kami claims of rediculous odds against them were untrue.

Now we have a "neutral" (notice Grim I didn't say independent ;) ) counter to provide raw data.

The problem is, if we do try to fix it people like you criticise us - saying we're egotistical and self-centred for for trying to change it, and if we leave we're criticised for becoming part of the problem. You want it both ways - you want us to stay and be miserable. You folks are the self-centred ones, wanting to force people to play a game they're not enjoying.

Fanboys, fangirls and other sycophants always do more damage to a game by loving it so much that they can't bear change and are intolerant when people leave because they can't deal with stagnation.

euw, stop trolling our forums. I tried to write a constructive reply to your thread. this post is dead and buried, if you have nothing better to do than search for 3 month old posts and bump them you are a very sad individual.

Indeed..
Enough is enough Beery.
We love this game and you dont.
Please just leave it at that..
There is no point in dragging this out and pulling the forums into a flame war.
We should part company now - us to play the game we love and you to find the game that satisfies your need to play an entertainer, which I sincerely hope you do.

Regards,
