When some gameplay function is restored and the people who've all but destroyed the game aren't catered too so much, or when they stop being bashworthy, that'll happen.

PvP draws people to online games, because its in HUMAN NATURE that they want to be BETTER then others.
Arguing about it is stupid, its like saying communism is perfect, WHICH I COULD AGREE WITH, its a perfect IDEA. But because of human nature, its impossible.
You are trying to argue with human nature Jyudas. Without PvP, the game would MOST LIGHTLY not exist, and i know **** that wont try it BECAUSE the pvp here isnt that active, and more that left because of it.

Jyudas, you know Vanguard? It wasnt supposed to have pvp for at least a year after launch.
So it didnt get enough pre-order customers, and guess what?
They opened a few pvp servers, and whoops, suddenly they had enough customers?

No "pure" economic/political system can endure indefinately due to human nature. Wether it be capitalist, communist, theocracies, dictatorships...

Most societies are founded on compromise. The British society is primarily democratic/capitalist system with socialist tendancies (the NHS for example). Ryzom at present has a primarily Factioned/PvPer focus. The disadvantaged groups of neutrals/non-PvPers are attempting to survive as best they can, some by assimilation ("Factioned for the TPs"), some by objecting verbally, and others simply by trying to ignore it as best they can. Others are emigrating (unsubscribing).

Since this is an evolving game everyone wants it to develop the way they prefer. And the disadvantaged groups are asking for it to balance things out a little. Wether loudly here on the forums, or quietly in the form of suggestion tickets.

Either way, Gameforge is no doubt watching...

Well, miss Microkitty, I've been in guilds in which every member could kill you in real life without remorse, and despite of that the guilds were very peaceful in nature, only PvPing within very strictly limited rules of engagement etc. Factions and PvP (which atm is mandatory due rewarding system) have practically killed this game and community. If you read my first sentence in there carefully you might realize I'm not against PvP as such, but the present system imposed upon players in Ryzom is *bad*. Ever thought that MMO(RPG)'s could give you a chance to act against your base nature?

And wrong again, no sweets for you this time either kiddo. At the beta servers the the ratio between PvP'ers and non PvPers is about 1:8 - and that's general trend in MMORPG's - Games based purely on PvP, like some of the MMO's are of course different. Rabid PvP'ers, like roleplayers are minority group - and almost every game has made the wise move of making PvP, or RP for that matter, servers separate - bit like jails or mental institutions here in the real life - draw your own conclusions from that...

"Opened a few PvP servers" - they will open one in US and one in Europe, hehe, at launch - in the beta there is one and it's never full .

Vanguard never was dependent upon PvP crowd, but they decided to cater it. So if you're going to make generalizations, base them upon facts, not the usual PvP 133t kid whiner jargon. The amount of PvP people who left Ryzom this far is extremely small compared to the amount of people from the other playergroups that are gone.

You mean like EQ2 Where the pvp servers are the most populated? Or WoW where the pvp servers are most populated?
Or EVE perhaps?

So your saying that it WAS NOT SAID that Vanguard wouldnt have pvp for at least a year?
And that THEY ARE ALREADY running out of money, which is why they are releasing the game to early. (that was said in other words though, but indirectly, what they were saying).
Because both of these are known facts.

Now, If they are already runnin out of money, WITH the pvp crowd paying too.
Where would they be WITHOUT the pvp crowd?
