How many landmarks do you need? How many would be just right? How many is too much and would just create a mess?
Harvesters, let us know!
Ok. It looks like a resounding vote for more than 50. (much more) I'll take that (and your other comments) back to the devs.
Thanks!

harvesting was my first skill to hit 30 but this goes way to far imo. Approching every game not as cleverly disguised 0s and 1s but as a kind of virtual *reality* I wouldnt like an "X" on the floor (that only I can see).
SoR is the first MMORPG I played that has a strong natural look and I'd prefer it to stay that way.
But I agree 100% on that different colored flags/symbols are a must in the long run.

Yes i agree with you on this. Some of Vguerins other suggestions are certainly worth consideration tho.

There is one way the 'X marks the spot' idea could work and fit in with the whole theme of the game - why not use something like a cairn to mark the spot? (That's a pile of rocks for those that didn't know)
That way, you could use the flag on the map to navigate to the approximate area, then look for your cairn to zero in.
I agree that markers do need to be way more precise, especially as a lot of the good spots I've found are very exact, one step to the left or right and you miss it.

Doesnt get this thing a bit to technical? its not ALL about effiency ot is it?
And with prospection angle and range at lvl 40 we shouldnt have such a hard time finding a spot - RL gold diggers had to memorize a bit of the landscape too

Nah, I believe they put rock formations as markers on the ground marking them

/agree with 2 points
1. Once you start really harvesting, 50 isn't nearly enough, especially if you mark spawn points too. If you're not hardcore into harvesting, 30-50 is fine.
2. The point raised about distinguishing marks is very important. I would love to have different color flags for different things.

The number of available landmarks could increase with our level in foraging

What vguerin suggested and the idea for different color landmarks is critical.
Right now I've got landmarks all over marking choice or better harvesting deposits.
Then I've also got a few to mark camps I need to stay away from! (hostile tribes that slaughter me)... unfortunately they're the same color so I really have to pay close attention to what is on my map.
Right now the warning flags will probably go away in favor of all harvesting flags.
