If you want people to leave, just shut the servers down.

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

<sigh> Well, it was fun while it lasted.

try running ryzom recover several times until it starts working... oddly enough it took me 3 tries once when I was having problems after a patch

I have run checkdisk, defrag, norton anti-virus, macafee stinger and adaware (you never know). I have checked system settings I have tried ryzom_recover 7 times now. I have completely reinstalled the game. The first install left me floating 20 feet in the air in a complete water wolrd with the skeletons of yubos floating above me (I have the screenshots to prove it). I have updated my video drivers. I have played with the video settings. I have changed from auto to Open GL to Direct. I have turned the sound off. I have set the video settings to low. I have changed screen resolutions. I have installed it in different locations. I have run the repair function from the CD. I have run the reinstall function from the CD.

I have also been completely ignored by tech support and given the remarkably helpful advice of 'reboot' when I did manage to briefly log in to the game.

And the funny thing is that until the patch, I had probably the most stable game I have played. My crashes were few and far between.

Edit: Online for the moment. The secret seemed to be *not* running ryzom_recover which just produced checksum errors and logging in 15 or 20 times. Keep logging in enough and eventually it'll take.

I don't see this as a major game-stopper. Just ticket to the town your packers are in instead of whichever other one. If you're doing something next to a town, same, just ticket to your packer, or buy one in that town. If it's too expensive, just consider yourself too low level for that particular luxury.
