Inventory Full vs. loss of traded items

once I lost a pike this way... I thought I lost it. I tried few things (was 150k dappers worth) and found a solution:

The was in the temp inventory. I had to accept a mission where I get a message or an object to deliver somewhere and hit take all in the pop up with the item. The pike didn't show up there in pop up, but afterwards it was in my inventory.
