Trying to help but may complicate thinks:
on your health/sap/focus.... window
there are two small squares
the first one it the active action.
the second it the 'queued' action.
The active action can either complete or be cancelled.
The 'queued' action will move to the active action on completion of the current active action.
Eg.
Single click on default attack with a very weak mob selected.
The default action icon will appear first in the queued box then intantly jump to the active action and the progress bar will fill.
The queued box will be empty.
When it hits full the action is performed.
Both boxes will now be empty.
Repeatable actions - fight/extraction/careplan
by double clicking the icon (fast double tap with the num key also does this)
You are say to the game:
When my queued box is empty, re-fill it with this action.
This effectively gives you auto-repeat!
ok - we have the basics covered .....
You can only have ONE action queued!
If you select any action it will OVERRIDE the current queued action. This queued action will be performed only after the active action has completed.
EG
double click default fight.
default fight will now be in both active and queue boxes....
now select an increased damage 1 action. (this has a different icon so it make things abit more visible.)
It goes in the queued box, (it has overridden the queued action, the current action is still progressing)
Once the active action completes the queued 'inc dmg1' move the the active box and is performed.
Because we are on auto-repeat default fight is now put in the queue!
Clear so far ... if not re-read please.
So to answer you question.
You attack after action is placed in the queue at the time you select it, the 'opening' may be available for 1 or 2 actions, based on the speed of your weapon.
if you select another action before you complete you current action and the 'attack after' has stated, you opening is lost!
Its worth playing with this will actions with different icons - it is very simple once you know - but may not be easy to get a handle on in the beginning!
Have fun ... hope this helps
Critical Hits, Skill and Dodging.
Re: Critical Hits, Skill and Dodging.
AFAIK the first is the case - "attack after x" is just a credit stanza, no more.sirloin wrote:Which of the following is accurate.

Thanks for all the help guys.
It has cleared it up for me.
I just need to spend time in creating a good custom action to use with the attack after critical/doge/parry now.
