That pretty much sums it up. All the more reason for each player to decide for herself whether they like the game or not.

but, oddly, I ask you to stick around for some more. The developers clearly understand that the situation now is umbearable, despite what says the people that keeps on trying to be positive.
Ryzom is just at the beginning, it will change back to it's greatness and hopefully improve as well to provide challenge for who wishes it, and still being fun and not useless grinding of yubos like it is now.
Stay safe, avoid the gingos, avoid to do most of the quests (they are seriously broken) and ask for advice to overcome the current inventory bugs, in some cases (sadly not mine) they actually worked.
goodluck to you.
U asked for advice , u got it, and ur problem is solved keriann ...

Try before you buy is actually a nice gesture. More and more commonplace now and neccessary in light of how quickly gameplay can change. Withing 14 days a player will have a good idea as to what the current gamestate is.

Unless they changed the entire game balance with a sweeping patch over night
Actually, I am glad they did it before the open trial. This weekend (comming up) my friends and I were going to have a "Ryzom" lan party with the free trials. Now instead we are going to be playing Halo 2 this weekend.
I shudder to think what would have happened if this patch had come out after the free trial period. I might be either losing some friends or paying them back for their subscriptions o.o
later

*bump for wednesday*
I'd like to note that in quick fashion, as usual, Nevrox has responded and will be changing various aspects of combat and magic resist rates to the benefit of the players. They'll be patching in the changes over the next few days as they make them (the first patch was today, according to another post here).

and in usual fashion live servers continue to be a test server as the actual test server is ignored?
Good luck to the newbies, you'll come to a more informed opinion of the game on your own than any intense player lobbying will do. Right now the forums have the feel of the recent U.S. election with both sides trying their hardest to lie and buy the opinions of swing voters for the election of their game.
If you are new to the game and need some help, feel free to send a /tell to svayvti.

And yet again, to reiterate:
...
On second thought, I'm too tired for this.

Yeah guys JYI they changed fighting so gingos dont do 400 dmg in one hit. I can now again solo 4 scowlings (55 2h fight) and get 1k xp a piece.... Im not complaining.
