Yeah try taking a the game group u were hunting frahars with for 3k each, before using blind was all anyone did, and go out to do the same thing now to only get hit for over 500 in full heavy(and 551 naked).

One character was using a skill over 100 and the level -144- frahar gives 2k xp to 5 people?

Sorry but harvesting is most definately not the only thing wrong with this patch.

Are they all mistaken?

To be completely honest, I have not made it ingame yet. But my point was not how few or how many people share the opinion expressed above but rather that a few hours of play can't possibly be enough to fully evaluate a patch that makes numerous changes in numerous areas.

Since my last post I have read of another player who is leaving because he got killed by 2 Ragus', and he makes the assertion that he is no longer able to explore. Well, to stay of go is obviously for him to choose, but his statements are utter hogwash! Or, perhaps he feels that he should be able to run in a straight line from point a to point b and get to his destination completely unharmed? All I know is, I have been able to avoid Ragus and Gingo when I've wanted to and unless they have greatly changed the aggro range of these beasts I will still be able to. Being out in the wilds alone may be more dangerous today than yesterday, but I really don't think it makes the game unplayable as some are claiming.

I think you are missing the point. The game didn't have a lot to offer before the patch already. At least it was fun to go and kill stuff and improve ones character some while waiting for a *content* patch to come.

Well, the content patch did not come, rather the dev team decided to eliminate the only part of the game that people actually did enjoy. So they leave, as they should. Ryzom is hardly the only game out there, especially with EQ2 and WoW around the corner. They should have taken some of the community complaints a little more seriously.

This raises the question what you do call "playing" the game. If your enjoyment is playing frogger and dodging mobs while crossing the road , aeh, travelling from city A to city B, then yes, everything is fine. For most people that is rather boring.

Either way - we'll see what happens next.
I personally have WoW as well as EQ2 pre-ordered and will not renew my subscription here if things don't improve sooner rather than later.

Don't say things are hogwash if you HAVEN'T PLAYED YET and he HAS. Your notions of what the game was do not apply any more; he is not talking about exploration BEFORE the patch, ie when YOU last played. It used to be reasonably easy. Now it is not so much.

They did drastically increase aggro ranges AFAIK, and furthermore they made monsters insanely more difficult. For example, a short way out of Fairhaven there is a spawn of Vigorous Cloppers. When I came to the mainland at about level 27 Melee wearing cruddy armor and using a cruddy dagger, I could solo them without much difficulty. Now, after the patch (that YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED btw), at about level 50 Melee with q50 Heavy Armor and a decent q50 Pike, a single Vigorous Clopper can take me down to 1/2 health before I kill it. Two Vigorous Cloppers can kill me in the time it takes me to sneeze.

Don't make ignorant statements.

And before you ask, yes, I DID remember to retrain my skills and get my HP/STA/Regen back up beforehand. -.-

I did not say anything about running in a straight line from point a to b! Going anywhere was a challenge before, but it was fun because there was the possibility that I'd have a few fights, some I could survive, some I couldn't. Now I can't survive ANY...THAT is the problem! I said, my idea of fun is NOT working off a huge death penalty, that is all, but you're twisting what I said around! With this patch, it's NOT the same game that I have been playing since release...not even close! Sure, if they wanted to make it more challenging I understand that, but in my opinion {and ALOT of others from the looks of this forum} they went way overboard by making mobs TO hard!

Lets sum up .. Crafting is MUCH better and that will help crafters to get up , magic is beter, melee is harder (but most people was hunting farahs NUDE at last now you can get 2k exp what is good ) what is real complain is that expereince for new levels over lv 150 is a way to much and it need to be lowered .. 3k kills have to be HARD to get but also there need to be some rate at wish to get levels ..

Dodge is Nerfed too much as even with light dodge crafted armour it dotn work as i hope it will ..

What need to be worked out is geting out better armours so that people can solo more :P

Summing up very good patch when all is set in its place, very bad in same time as it changed game dinamic to much... is this reason to quit ? no it is reason to find a new way to make it work and to show developers that it need to be changed ..

Exp in group need to be revisited with harder monsters, exp to get levels need to be revisited so that if that 3 k is not so easy to get at last that new levels can come at same rate im noting this overl lv 150 ..

note to all some monsters are now MUCH easier but please dont make comparations with times when everone and even his dog was blinding monsters and geting MAD leveling rate .. are you wishe that this bug was now going too long on so people now expect a little harder bit they get shocked when at same time remain without prefered exploit and get harder monsters ?

Also as warrior .. dont forget to put some spell on your weapon .. it make all difference ..

These "for" and "against" patch discussions sound like the Presidential election discussions.

Time to move on. Time to get going. What lies ahead we have no way of knowing.

Work that patch, people! Work it! :)
