What are the storage limitations and bugs with Mektoubs?
Can crafting tools be stored there?

AFAIK you cannot store crafting tools anywhere.
As for the bugs & limitations - our guildleader had it's mektoub once vanished when he took it with him into guild headquarters. He got it back the next day, though. Basically it's best just to keep once mektoubs in the stables, they don't get killed and are most useful there.
Limitations are that mektoubs can only carry 64 stacks of items each.
