So which wandering NPCs are the ones to look for? From memory (which is probably faulty after a year) it was something like this:

Prospector - only offers forage missions, need at least 0 fame, gives dappers (so not much fame)
Journeyman - only offers craft missions, need at least 0 fame, gives dappers (so not much fame)
Hunter - only offers fight missions, need at least 0 fame, gives dappers (so not much fame)
Patroller - offer all kinds of missions, no minimum fame required, gives no dapper (so more fame)
Scout - same as patrollers, but work for a civilisation instead of a tribe, so useless to our cause.

So patrollers would be the wandering equivalent of the tribe welcomer, and the best one to earn fame with if the tribe is KoS to you. I'm not sure every tribe even has a patroller though...

I remember once while I had the Ghandi Bug, I ran into the Cockroaches Camp and talked to the tribe welcomer. My fame was -66 but he still talked to me and offered missions. I did see a Patroller once walking around by the Ripping Jacks and took a coupla missions from him. Didn't take any "give" missions cause I figured I would never find this guy again. Reduced my fame to -64 after completing.

So it would be a huge help to have an idea of:

-Patroller names for each tribe
-Patroller routes or places where they show up once and a while

Not only do Patrollers wander around, they also migrate with seasons... (Damn you, Xyllo Tindix !!! )
