I hope there is a real company out there that will pick this game up and give it some real development. .

The lastly colleted 10 million Euro couldnt save the project. Too much time and money has been put into the project already. Apart from that and according to Kersting, the number of players mentioned by the former operator differed considerably from reality (4500).

Cant see anyone stumping up that kind of money to service 4500 players, I'm sure it could be done, as I have played free games with nearly 1 million players working incredibly well.

But business people will look at the track record on how it broke two companies and probably wont touch it :(

I agree if the point was to MAKE money...but what if the point is to develop an entirely absorbing online experience? Then its possible...
I know one player with vast coding experience who would volunteer his time and really get something from it....I'm married to him ;)
I would volunteer my time as co-ordinator networker and all round scavinger (I am good at pouting and looking desperately needy)
Tell me...what can you offer?

one constructive and simple idea for all of you who can and like to do that: make scenarios and put them online, simple ones, lagy ones, mission ones, landscapes, kitin patrols, whatever you like and your imagination can.

See what the situation is. If by any chance there is out there a buyer for Ryzom let's not blow the server population out. Give people something to do, to visit, to explore. Don't forget the Silan people. Bring your silly, genial, dumb and beautiful scenarios online like there's no tomorrow in the hope there is one and we should capitalise for it.

I agree, do not give up.

Even if my hope is long braindead and its body kept alive by machines.
It´s still there, in a way...

And even if a lot of people will again vanish from these servers, for whatever reasons they might name, even IF it all goes down the drain, the Ryzom has taken root in our brains at least, if not our hearts.

It will live on in our fond memorys of this virtual place called Atys.
It will stay in stories we will tell, of a life on another world, where branches reached up into the sky and creatures no Human has ever seen roamed the lands. Where Homins lived, fought and pondered the meaning of all their lives.

Because we didn´t just "play" Ryzom.
Most of us LIVED on Atys and in Ryzom.

So, let´s do not give up on poor hope, even if she´s gasping for her last breath right now. Who knows what the future my bring.

Someone needs to contact Brad Wardell at Stardock, the creators of Object Desktop and Windowblinds. Brad (founder and CEO of the company) is a gamer at heart from the OS2 days, loves large communities and his company might have the capital to really make Ryzom a LASTING mmo.
