Yes I too payed up and found Tryker land very empty, Fairhaven is very empty too. I have been doing quests because I didn't know there was a limit to what you can put into the merchants (128 pieces for noobs). So I am waiting around for I don't know many days before I can do anything.
BUT I love the landscape but find harvesting a bit boring. Otherwise the game seems OK to me.
Except of the lack of people around to help.

open vendor interface (stable boy will do), click.. hmm whats that called in right side second tab ? my items or something like that.
from there you can retrieve/delete items you have put on sale. next time if you dont expect to sell item to player, sell directly to npc (shift+enter shortcut).

I'm on Arispotle.
I've subscribed for a month, I can't quit after 2 days. But now I'm still on the Silan's island and it's really frustrating... why should I play? I'm afraid soon my stats will decrease and my equipment will disappear once again. You have to admitt it's very demotivating...

If you would be willing to put behind the recent frustrations
, Im sure you will find the game to be a bit more enjoyable. It would of course mean waiting for the Dev's to fix the item loss bug first.
However, If you let us know what Time you generaly are on, and the Time zone your in, Im sure alot of us are quite willing to help you out in what ever way we can. Your Characters name would help too. You're welcome to contact me, Pelian or Rikkia in-game if you want. All 3 of us try to help out when we can. Particuarly Newer players.

Yeah, it sure is. Wouldn´t wish this for anyone around. *sigh*
But, well... **** happens.
As dump as this may sound.
I´m sure they´ll fix it ASAP.
And Arispotle normaly is the most populated server and the wolrd is huuuuge, so as said earlier, a little patience is requiered
Just /tell the people who´ve offered to help here.
CU
and all the best

I've created a new Matis Character, and I've left Silan as soon as I could. In the Matis city I've found a lot of friendly people, and I must say my skills grew up very fast.

2) This game has a very stupid quest system.
It doesn't have quests, period.
The missions on the mainland are not quests, they are tasks. Mundane, repeatable little jobs from officials who are either too lazy or too busy to do the tasks themselves, so they hand them out to refugees, sometimes with a reward of a few dappers for successful completion, always with the reward of some fame (SHIFT+F) with the host tribe/race. Kami and Karavan give out similar tasks purely to harness the power of multitudes of little homins eager to gain their favor and willing to take care of such jobs in the process.
There are twelve missions which are more complex and interesting, called Rites. You have to have a certain level of fame with the race/tribe that hosts the Rite to initiate it. The rewards for a Rite are usually a small stat boost, a special crafting plan, or a special stanza/action, plus an amber cube (an entry in your Encyclopedia (SHIFT+E) containing a lore story.
Someone let me know if I got the keyboard shortcuts wrong?

Also, please keep in mind that this time of year is BAD to find crowds of people around. I've been on sometimes when Fairhaven was literally hopping with homins and everywhere else was silent as the grave.
Holiday timeframes are a bad time to be looking for people. On my contact list, lately, I'm lucky if three people are online at any given time.
