Better to say that the color of lining wins as resin is not the only lining material (herbivor teeth for example).

The color change is rather subdued. Unlike armors the change in color is not in your face and so obvious that you can't miss it. I missed the difference when I first made the Blamus (MQ 1-handed Fyros sword), but switching back and forth between the two quickly revealed the visual differences.

You are correct that the manual says that weapons cannot change color. However, I still stand by my statement that my MQ weapons take on the hue of the mats i used. The vast majority of the mats that I gather are red... and as a result the Blamus that I make has a redish/pinkish tint to it. There's a chance I may be incorrect in my assumptions since i have not explicitly attempted to create a blue/green/purple weapon yet... I'll have to go slaughter some kipee/goari tonight and see if it alters my weapons' appearance.
