Any ideas? The game works fine on my xp rig.
Key word here is 'beta'. You are using Beta OS which we do not support.
The problem probably lies with your drivers.
Look in the log.log file to see if anything looks obvious.

This is for the guys running Vista Beta 2.
Vista locks down the system drive due to the new security format. This means programs cannot write data back to the programs folder when ran under a standard user account. Vista tries to work around this by providing virtual storage for each folder but this does not work 100% of the time.
So what you need to do is run Ryzom using Administrator permissions. Right click the Ryzom icon and under compatibility, click the box next to "run as administrator". Click ok and this should allow Ryzom to patch and run. You will have to provide the administrator password each time Ryzom is ran.
