Exactly, I almost forgot about that; neat idea on the Universe chat. Now let' s just hope it will only be used for the intended use and not get spammed a plenty by people looking for a heal.
Same concerns a bit like Jelathnia; some races get automatically linked to 'skills' that they may be seen as classes. (Matis, the bio-engineers - crafting; Zorai, the mysthical race - magic; Fyros, the warrior race - fight; Tryker, the exploring merchant race - foraging)

1.The Island
We'd like to have one unique island for all races instead of four separate lands. The island would be larger than the current islands, and made of several ecosystems (forest, lake and jungle).
Don´t know if its´s a good idea to put everything in one space, just like Jayce sayed and if it´s missing the desert... IMHO,yeah Kostika you´re right bout that, would be a bit unfair for the new players.
May i be so bold to suggest that you could keep the starterisland and just conect them directly with portals and/or though a PR region? would be nearer to the mainlands and still the newbes could meet each other

2. Skills
A new player would own the four basic skills from the start, and wouldn't need to buy what he's lacking at the trainer anymore (using skill points).
wuuhuu, thats an idea i wished they had earlier...like when i was starting lol
3. Missions
We want to change the missions given by NPCs. The goal is to provide helpful missions with more explanations, which effectively guide the new player regarding skills (what to use with what skill, customising actions), training, and the basics of Atys life and background (mobs behaviour, Kitins, Bandits, Goo...).
now thats something worth doing... only one thing to think about... they may get used to good missions and maybe, just maybe, want some more on the mainlands
4. Chat
Along with this new NPE, we want to introduce a new chat: Universe. It should include every region of the mainland and the newbie island. You could have access to it from both the island and the mainland. The main purpose of this channel is to allow veterans to help new players more easily.

One question though, what happens to the characters on the existing starter islands? Will they live their newbie life out there until they leave with new people going to the npe island, or will everyone be moved to the new one?

Imo this will mean more newbies coming through and thus more players on the mainland!

Maybe I missed it, but one thing I did not see addressed was the transfer tot he mainland. Will a new player automatically transfer to his/her race's continent, or will they get to choose which 'porter to use?
And same question as others, what happens to new (and old) characters alread/still on one of the existing four training islands when this comes into play?

yay! brilliant and at last
from the description sounds like there is one trainer for each branch, would that mean homins automatically aquire skills based on their race here?
sounds great though, would be nice if there was text in one of the welcoming speeches explaining that different races would leave to their own lands otherwise lots of fledgling friendships will get rudely broken up

so we're getting that sp back then, right?
oh, and instead of just changing the islands with a patch; throw an extremely high level kitin invasion event on the current islands, kill all npc there, and make those islands accessible to players as kitin hunt grounds.. maybe even put some kitin bosses on there

It would give a great incentive to go on trips and explore
