Hi Petej, petej wrote:Oh and another gripe... why have a Cap (-50) that makes you just KoS at the highest lvl
thats not true, if you have a fame of exactly -50 the tribes won't attack. They attack at a fame below -50 ( I have -50 with the Chlorogoos, and they don't attack me).

Just to show that your fame didn't change unless you had no fame... comparisons between my fame with tribes in Oct and now:
Tribes of Atys Interaction : 57

The new format prevents an easy read, but you can see you really lost nothing that wasn't already dormant by previously not interacting with the tribes.
Your citizen fame with the tribes was preordained for you:

Re: Tribal Fame Bug
Exactly my point, if you had no personal fame before, the new personal fame becomes the old civilization fame (in some cases very bad). Whereas if you had any personal fame before patch, your new personal fame becomes the old personal fame (in most cases rarely Kill on Sight). So someone who did a small number of missions or killed a small number of Tribesmen would have a new personal fame that was well outside the Kill on Sight parameters, while someone who did not interact with the tribes would now be Kill on Sight by many of them.vguerin wrote:Just to show that your fame didn't change unless you had no fame...
This seems capricious and not really within the bounds of fairness since the swing in fame could be very large before and after patch based on only a few mission difference.
Re: Tribal Fame Bug
if you has no personal fame b4 the patch that means you had never personally interacted with the tribe, so only contact was with guild, if you lost the guild in the old method you lost those entries, but gaine new oned for any guild you joined after, and your personal fame contacts adding to the guild entries.
With new fame all tribes are dictated by the caps whether you have met them or not the tribe has a reaction based on your new caps from race and cult.

caps yes, but starting point is not same for everyone.tylarth wrote:With new fame all tribes are dictated by the caps whether you have met them or not the tribe has a reaction based on your new caps from race and cult.
if tribe had -66 civil fame before and you had -10 personal fame, then now you -10 with them (should be -76 to be fair)
if you didnt have any personal fame with tribe before, then now you -66.
.. or something like that.
Re: Tribal Fame Bug
pretty much like that, you old personal and only that was transferred to the new system, and lowered if need be by changes to the caps made from affiliation choices, if you had no personal then you lost the entry but you have a fame cap with the tribes still based on current affiliations. any prior contribitions from guild and race are deleted. This allows players not to be burdened by 'birth' in consideration of tribe fame, and adds the element of cult into the tribe equationblaah wrote:caps yes, but starting point is not same for everyone.

Sounds good but it doesnt work like that , Tribes you had personal with before the Patch "ignore your birth" (dont include Civ Fame) but Tribes you activate post Patch all start at your Civ Fame lvl , works the same for Neutral or Civ aligned

Re: Tribal Fame Bug
No, that's not correct. For tribes you didn't have personal fame with prior to the patch, your old racial fame was turned into your personal fame.tylarth wrote:if you had no personal then you lost the entry but you have a fame cap with the tribes still based on current affiliations. any prior contribitions from guild and race are deleted. A Matis character who never interacted with the First Deserter prior to the patch now has -66 personal fame with them, even if they have the cap for First Deserter fame at 100. A Matis character who killed a First Deserter prior to the patch has 0 personal fame with them now.
Seeing I mostly did missions for tribes I already had decent racial fame with, basicly I lost all the positive effects of racial fame but kept all the negative ones.
I submitted one ticket on this shortly after the patch, just for all tribes in general, and was just told it would be sent up to the devs.
I agree with everything the original poster said about this being a crazy and unfair situation. The old civilisation fame was supposed to disappear, not be transformed into personal fame. Personal fame should be 0 for all tribes you've never interacted with.
