Every mat (apart from Kitin Larva, faction mats, refugee mats) has two stats with reduced values and one stat with an increased value.

So if you want to find a mixture with a high stats then you need mats that at minimum don't have those stats reduced. If you want to max some stats then you're going to need at least one mat type to have those stats increased (AFAIK with all supreme mats). You can also balance them out to a certain extent so "mat A wood" has less dodge but "mat C resin" has more dodge may result in a balanced or better dodge.

The rest is down to finding what mats have what bonuses/reductions (BM's is great, precraft stats too or putting in the craft window and checking the stats then comparing to the made item). One thing to note is dodge/parry only have a few values. For heavy armour you don't need 100% dodge to get a crafted stat of '0' although you do need 100% for a parry mod of "+2".

Anyway I've already said too much. If I tell you any more I'll have to kill you.

I have the idea the topic starter isnt a high level crafter yet, so i kinda have this basic tip for making HA, that has a high parry statistic. Cause heavy armor is used by melee people -> parry raises with melee level.

For stuffing you could use Kipee Secretion. It has a very high parry stat, and will give yer armor, if you use the right choice materials, like Tama Wood, Silverweed Sap and Glue Resin, a +1 to parry on each part.
