I really like the idea of forcing you to push the line clear to the other side for some special mats. Of course, you wouldn't want the majority of mats to be this way but it'd be nice for some special mats. The specialized extraction action would be a good way to do it. Another way could just be to have the "safe" zone have a lot of tough 5* NPC guards that respawn kinda quick. These guards could be more frequent the further away from the front line you got. So if you didn't push the line back, harvesting the mats there would be tough (nearly impossible), because of the guards.

I think the mechanics aren't too far from allowing this type of dynamic PvP zone. I think they could easily make towers that you could attack and destroy. I mean, it's essentially just a MOB in the shape of a tower that doesn't move (a big, bad jubla with a different skin).

When you "killed" the opponents tower, it would convert to yours or one of yours would appear in its place. Additionally, a new opponent's tower would appear further back from that, representing the moving of the line back into their territory.

I think the main thing they'd have to spend some time coding is making the PvP zone be defined by these towers rather than the whole region. But they already have PvP zones that are defined by proximity to a point (the area around the temples). It would just be making that zone mobile.

I went ahead and emailed this idea directly to Xavier since he specifically requested us to post or email feedback for Episode 2. I suggested that Nevrax consider trying such a system in the short term future, perhaps even patch the current event to work this way, as I think it would help show people that it's not a "PvP or nothing" world.

Oshido so Naive :( it makes way too much sense and completely goes in the opposite direction of the game becoming a a gankers dream (humor incase people dont get it :p ). Very nice idea ahhh we can dream and hope :)

it's a very good idea... i so much wished this idea was implemented, battles and PvP would then have a real sense !

Oki ...I think this is indeed a fine idea.a very great one even!
But seen the rude way of playing and childish way of playing this war by some players I think a certain change of mentality would be also welcome.
War is one thing ,Insulting players because they are of opposite faction (and even the same faction)and attacking even harmless diggers(YES THEY DO EXIST!!) ,who just want to wander around or explore and after that gathering some same minded players to literally bug them(!) is somehow a little bit too much of it.Remember u are fighting for an ideal ,for an idea .But don't let it ruin the community ,it existed through respect towards others and I really hope it can stay like this....Keep it a little fun will u...

But except from this ...a little reorganistion in this war like the idea provided would make it a lot more fun :)
