And this list contains the magical protections. When using this list, keep in mind the protection is only half the story and that creatures have different resistances too. Kipees may have 30% protection against electricity and no protection against cold, but if the kipee is higher level than you it's likely to resist your cold spell a lot more than your electric spells.

Values below are for aboveground creatures. PR variants have an additional 60% protection against the basic spells (acid/cold/rot) compared to their normal counterparts.

Animals
arana: 25% acid, 20% rot
arma: 75% cold, 50% rot
bawaab: 75% cold, 50% rot
bodoc: 12% cold, 50% rot
bolobi: 50% cold, 50% rot, 30% poison
capryni: 50% rot
clopper: 50% rot
cray: 50% rot
cuttler: 50% rot
frippo: 50% rot
gingo: 50% cold, 50% rot
gnoof: 50% rot
goari: 50% rot, 30% electric
gubani: 75% cold, 50% rot, 30% electric
horncher: 25% cold, 50% rot, 30% shockwave
igara: 25% cold, 50% rot
izam: 50% cold, 50% rot
javing: 50% cold, 50% rot
jugula: 50% cold, 50% rot
lumper: 50% acid, 50% rot
madakam: 50% rot, 30% electric
mektoub: 25% cold, 50% rot
messab: 50% cold, 50% rot
najab: 25% acid, 50% rot
ocyx: 50% rot
ploderos: 25% cold, 50% rot, 30% shockwave
ragus: 25% cold, 50% rot
raspal: 12% cold, 50% rot
rendor: 50% rot, 30% fire
shalah: 50% acid, 50% rot
timari: 25% cold, 50% rot
torbak: 50% cold, 50% rot
tyrancha: 25% acid, 50% rot, 30% fire
varinx: 50% cold, 50% rot, 30% fire
wombai: 50% rot
yber: 25% cold, 50% rot, 30% shockwave
yelk: 75% cold, 30% rot, 30% poison
yetin: 50% cold, 50% rot
yubo: 50% rot
zerx: 25% acid
Primates
cute: 25% rot
frahar: 25% fire
gibbaï: 25% cold
Plants
cratcha: 80% acid, 25% cold, 30% poison
psykopla: 80% acid, 30% electric, 30% shockwave
shooki: 80% acid, 30% fire
slaveni: 65% acid, 12% cold
stinga: 80% acid, 50% cold
Kitin
kiban: acid immunity, 80% rot, 30% all racial spells
kidinak: 20% acid, 20% rot, 30% all racial spells
kincher: acid immunity, 30% cold, 80% rot, 30% all racial spells
kinrey: acid immunity, 30% cold, 80% rot, 30% all racial spells
kipee: acid immunity, 80% rot, 30% all racial spells
kipesta: 30% acid, 80% rot
kipucka: 20% acid, 20% rot, 30% all racial spells
kirosta: 40% acid, 30% cold, 40% rot, 30% all racial spells
kizoar: 25% acid, 80% rot
kizarak: acid immunity, 80% rot, 30% all racial spells

Mobs which only exist in PR variant:
Vorax: Immune to all basic spells, 40% all racial spells
Jubla: acid immunity, 60% cold, 60% rot

And that concludes what's probably the last list in the series, magic resistances would just be too much of a pain to try documenting

Fantastic stuff, Sidusar. I spent a little time and reformatted this into a consolidated html file:

Protection Guide

If anyone wants to format that in an even prettier format, feel free. I just wanted something easier to read and consolidated.

Since I wrote code to scan the postings and create that html, it was a nominal task to make a CSV version of it:

CSV Protection Guide

If a certain Tryker guild wants to load this info into a db, this may help. :)

Oooh, that's great. Thanks Oud. I was just thinking I should tabulate all 4 lists into a more readable html file, and that saves me a lot of work having to do it myself and hosting it somewhere.

One little mistake I made; slaveni are immune to fear like all plants. I didn't notice that was missing from my list until I saw it in your table. I've corrected it now.

Your code seems to have a problem with the slashing protections. A lot of creatures that should have some don't. I don't know how much trouble it is for you to determine the problem and scan again, otherwise I could always add those in by hand.

Other than that, looks good :)

I corrected the Slaveni thing in my copy of your posting and the slash thing was my mistake in the code. 99% of coding mistakes are either something obscure or something stupid. This was something stupid and easily correctable on my part.

Both files at the links below have been updated. Thanks for double-checking it. I was about to post it on my guild's website (with full credit for all your amazing work, of course).

Yep, looks to be all correct now.

Please do post this info anywhere you like, I didn't gather it for people not to find ;)

Since yesterday a new mob has been spotted around Atys, and ofcourse upon hearing this I immediatly set out to gather it's info so it could be added to the list. And here's what I found:

Christmas Present: 12% protection against slashing, 80% protection against acid, immune to fear

And I'm not making that up

Excellent post and we need to refresh this old post so new players like me can see it.

You're welcome. It's not so much work anymore to get this kind of information since we got the Ring. You can just put any creature down and experiment with it now :)

Oh, that reminds me. I never got around to adding whether creatures try to dodge or parry.

It makes a difference if you're using 2-handed weapons, those have a bonus against parry and a penalty against dodge. And if you want to use critical effects to make a creature easier to hit, you need to aim for their feet if they dodge, but for their hands if they parry.

This list just wouldn't be complete without it. So, once more:

Animals
arana: parry
arma: parry
bawaab: parry
bodoc: parry
bolobi: dodge
capryni: dodge
clopper: parry
cray: dodge
cuttler: dodge
frippo: dodge
gingo: dodge
gnoof: parry
goari: parry
gubani: dodge
horncher: parry
igara: dodge
izam: dodge
javing: dodge
jugula: parry
lumper: parry
madakam: parry
mektoub: dodge
messab: dodge
najab: parry
ocyx: dodge
ploderos: parry
ragus: dodge
raspal: dodge
rendor: parry
shalah: parry
timari: parry
torbak: dodge
tyrancha: parry
varinx: dodge
vorax: parry
wombai: dodge
yber: dodge
yelk: parry
yetin: dodge
yubo: dodge
zerx: parry
Primates
cute: dodge
frahar: dodge
gibbaï: dodge
Plants
cratcha: parry
jubla: parry
psykopla: parry
shooki: parry
slaveni: dodge
stinga: dodge
Kitin
kiban: parry
kidinak: dodge
kincher: parry
kinrey: parry
kipee: parry
kipesta: dodge
kipucka: parry
