I give here the text of the Matis speech:

Greetings gentle Homins, blessed of Jena's light.

I am Miani Sinia, as the leader of the Guild of Karavia, the sworn bodyguards of the King. I have been asked to speak on behalf of his majesty King Yrkanis and the Matis people to you, our allies the Tryker.

On behalf of the King I extend thanks for the hospitality of our friends and the warm welcome we have received in your beautiful city. In gratitude to our glorious hosts, the people of Matis have collected many excellent materials of the forests as gifts. These I present to you together with these magnificent forest mektoubs. The following individuals and guilds have contributed:

37 Q190 excellent Scrath nodes
and many, many others of Q180 and 190 too numerous to detail.

15 Q220 supreme Gingo leather
5 Q270 supreme Arana tooth
8 Q220 supreme Gingo ligament

20 Q160 excellent Gingo leather
20 Q160 excellent Gingo bones
20 Q160 excellent Gingo bones (bones delievered in two batches)
20 Q110 excellent Gingo fang
30 Q110 excellent Gingo claw
30 Q110 excellent Gingo bone

May the Trykers enjoy the bounty the forests have to offer.

I come then to the matters that have prompted this occasion. For this I have the words of his majesty King Yrkanis as told to me:

"Most Independent and noble Trykers, masters of the Lakes. It is with regret that the announcement of my own hand has understandably caused misgivings and grave concern of the tryker towards ourselves. Words the threatened the very trust of our alliance. There are no doubts as I have heard many whom are outraged by such words. The words were placed in the original without my knowledge. The damage is obvious, our alliance weakens, there is distrust among friends. It is now through my trusted aides led by Miani Sinia, that I wish to show you most free and independent of all homins the true honour and respect we Matis show to our friends, allies, and above all faithful of Jena. We are faced with the enslavement and restrictions of the Kami; the Blessed Jena comes to us as a liberator!

We must stand united for the freedom of Atys."

With the blessing of Jena, King Yrkanis

Wow! I too am impressed with the gifts of the Mantis people. Very generous!

The people of the forest are kind to bring such gifts even if the King did not come himself. And I am glad to see some old and respected friends amongst those who contributed.

Lets hope that King Yrkanis does not expect these gifts to purchase one of the "common races" of homin. And I hope this is a sign that they he is moderating his extreme views about the coming of Jena and what is his "by right".

*mumbles about untrustworthy Mantis leadership under his breath*

The gifts of our friends the Matis are very impressive! Many Trykers are in awe of their hunting and foraging prowess. Some whispering has been heard in Fairhaven wondering whether, and to who, the Matis gifts might be distributed. Is Governor Wyler keeping the Matis gifts for himself?

I would hope they might be made into rewards for worthy citizens in future events. Though perhaps the Fairhaven Guards could use some new equipment, they were looking a little shoddy next to Evolution :)

On the final day of the mission, closing speeches were given:

(Roggan Adgan opened the speeches)

Settle down; settle down... that includes you too at the back...

Gathered Homins, greetings once again, I as most of you will know by now am Roggan Adgan, Speaker of official announcements. In case some of you have been blissfully unaware. We Trykers have been host to the Matis delegation lead by the delightful Miani Sinia. The discussions with the Governor Still Wyler and the Council have come to a close. But before our guests leave the wonders of Fairhaven and Liberty Lake, both Miani Sinia and Shaly Nara would like to say a few words about what has been talked about over the past few days.

(Shaly Nara then continued)

Cheers! Roggan and to the rest of you all for being here. Firstly I wish to thank the guilds of Matis for their generous gifts. I must also thank the citizens of Fairhaven for being so welcoming to our guests.

The past few days of talks have been... interesting. At times quite heated but overall reassuring. But you are wanting details... To begin with Governor Wyler and the rest of the Council demanded to know the reasons of the announcement of King Yrkanis some weeks ago. The Governor to put it mildly, was furious at the statement and made this very clear to the delegates. With explanation and the eventual calming of tempers, the line was not in the original written by the king, but an addition made by the Royal Scribe. This individuals whereabouts is not known and the whole affair being investigated at the command of the King. Whether this was the result of Matis political intrigue or Kami agents is to be discovered. The intent was obvious. To break the alliance we have! The motive exposed, Wyler still felt the need of commitment of our Matis friends... Miani if you could speak of this discussion.

(Miani Sinia spoke next)

You are most gracious Shaly. If I may at first, I would like to echo the compliments to our fine hosts that have made us most welcome during our stay, and also to congratulate the tryker guild's jewelers on such exquisite pieces that were gifted to us. The hospitality and generosity that you have show, I shall long remember.

But to the matters at hand. In the light of recent revelations the Tryker Council has proven to be very concerned for the Tryker people and way of life, much as King Yrkanis is of the Matis people, and justifiably so. When these interests were further examined the similarities, personal ambitions and goals of both our races are really not so different. We endeavour to become more that we are for the betterment of our peoples. We seek the liberty to forge our own destinies on Atys without the restriction of Kami enforced balance. As such it has been reaffirmed, that should the lands of the Tryker or the Matis be threatened, then we shall mutually assist against the threat. Also the need of engaging a potential threat is an option that has been extensively discussed. We do this out of respect and friendship for each other and the defense of values we hold dear.

(Roggan Adgan gave the conclusion but was interrupted with news of the Kitin threat...)

Thank you ladies. I'm sure your statements provoke as many questions as they've answered. Nevertheless The Matis embassy will be leaving shortly. Which gives me the opportunity to again thank all involved whom have made this a moment of history in the unity of the Tryker and Matis races. I'd also like to pay particular congratulations to the following...

Yes, what is it! Speak up if you've something important!
