Choose to take it as you will.
Nice that you dismiss the Community Manager so easily. I guess what he said meant nothing.

Well, most of us don't know what everything has happened and what has been said privately. I can imagine several ways how communication and even means of communication might have gone horribly wrong between person like DT and CSR doing their job.

I hope that this issue can be communicated in satisfactory manner between DT and CSR, so that we can eventually get individual with such charisma, enthusiasm and contribution back. And I do not mean only forums.

Signed

In America we have a constitutional guarantee of free speech. Though it distresses our present administration we will not give this right up easily. To silence any voice, to quell any discussion is not something that should be undertaken lightly and I think taking this step is a tragic mistake, not just against Doubletap, but against ANYONE.

Writing letters of complaint does not count as harassment in my book, but then I am a professional customer services representative irl so perhaps I see things differently. I feel that if a consumer is so frustrated by the service or lack thereof that I have given that they go to my boss, it is I who have failed... I did not communicate effectively enough. Stuffing a sock in thier mouth does not solve the problem.

NOT signed.

I've spoken a few times with dt ingame and he seems a cool guy, but i have spent 10 months speaking with CSR's and every single thing i have seen them do has been spot on. We are not going to get the details, because that would defeat the object of the banning i presume, but i dont see how u can support something like this with no facts at all.

Want to see bad CSR go look at Mourning boards, i would b signing things there if i played, but not here.. sorry

Mediating:

Well, the Code of Conduct says:
"You may not use any harmful, hateful, abusive, vulgar, defamatory, obscene, racial, ethnically offensive, nor sexually explicit language to any other players or Customer Service Representatives."

The Code just means 'be polite'. It's hard to be polite sometimes I know but you just can't 'be rude' and get away with it. However, I think only the channels in which someone 'is rude' should be restricted. In other words, does DT have to be banned from both Klients AND Forums?

Maybe un-banning DT from forums (assuming he has 'been polite' here) would be a good compromise to keep everyone happy.

But, I don't know the full score, so maybe I'm talking twadle.

Pfff. I have a lot of respect for all the DT has achieved but regardless of whether he was about to achieve sainthood, if he did something to get himself banned the powers that be will deal with things in the correct manner. He's always been one for pushing the boundries and it appears that this time the owners of the property took offence.

As for freedom of speech, isn't the ideal based on allowing everyone the right to say what they like as long as it doesn't impinge on others in a certain manner? Hence racism, inciting to riot, slander, etc are all still illegal? Also, if you sign an NDA, you can't talk about the issue you've signed off on without being in breach of contract. This board has rules, just like the game, and if you break them you let yourself open to punishment.

I hope DT comes back on here. He's made some good conversation over the time he's been here. And I also hope that he doesn't think of leaving over the issue. He's a great player and explorer. But I'm not just going to sign off on this thing without knowing the facts. I'm not going to condemn or condone until I know the details and I doubt that the details will ever come out.

I'm not dismissing him. I'm saying that the powers that be have the final say. I do not actually have any say in the matter.. I'm just posting my support for DT. I can't make the Gms or Community Liasons/Managers change their minds on the matter any more than I can turn night into day.
