With 8-10% of the male population being colour blind (plus a smaller female %), relying on just color coding is not a good design. I would suggestion using any of the following to make more flexiable:

a) underlining/italics/bold
b) different fonts
c) A extra text label (cubersome)
d) Enabling people to set thier own color choices in the interface (This will allow color blind people to choose thier own high contrast colors that they are comfortable with)

a,b and c would be the most instinctive and robust, but most color blind people are used to having to mes around with default colors so d would be useful if a,b,c cannot be implemeented for engine reasons.

The actual colors should be customizable for reasons already mentioned.

Space targeting and Crtl-Space targeting shouldn't work... or at least not how it works now. Would be too easy to determine a player's alligment. I mean the fact that you can select players 50m away with lots of other stuff in the way, even trough a wall/obstacle just isn't good for fun PvP. Make visibility matter for Space and Ctrl-Space selection and it's ok.

I also think players shouldn't show up on radar in PvP areas - or at least make walking, standing and sitting players not show up. Allow people to use sneaking against players, allow ambushes :D

Also a general damage output and damage absorption re-ballance is in order to make PvP in Ryzom fun.

PS: sorry for going off-topic, I think we might need a general PvP feedback thread in this forum...

Sounds confusing..but i'm sure given time, I could figure it out. All in all seems like a good idea.

With all these new colour requirements it would be good if you could expand the palete of available colours in "Game Configuration : Interface" , there is only realy 7 colours (Red/Mauve/Dark Blue/Light Blue/Light Green/Yellow/Orange) plus grey scale
Zoraï : Master Desert/Forest/Jungle/Lakeland/PR Forager , Master Light Melee Weapon Smith , Jeweler Master , 201+ in All 39 Craft Branchs , All Craft Trainer and Outpost plans -gone walkabout (solo) awaiting new content

Prehaps you have a custom title appear when u enter a PvP area. eg:

Kami Supporter
Karavan Scum

(not that i'm biased)

That'll do, also them make everyone wearing the same titles be one big happy family team (for heal purposes).

And then, remove the other team from your radar! Be much more fun if you could send scouts out etc to find the bad guys. If it leads to having them massively split up, the admin types could drop hints to the other's location.
