I can make it quick and easy I think -- say you have a level 50 heal spell that's "+50". You can pay for it with 50 sap, like any other game that uses mana for spells, or you can do things like this:
50 HP
spell costs 50 hp to cast
25 HP
25 sap
spell costs 25 hp and 25 sap to cast
25 sap
25 range
spell costs only 25 sap, but is half the range
25 range
25 time
spell is free, but is half the range and twice the casting time
And if you add an option to your 50 pt spell, like bomb, making it 75 points, then you must cover those 75 points instead of just 50.
And fight skills are paid for in combinations of stamina and HP.
