I always laugh when I go to EB and see pre-played copies of EverQuest and other MMORPG's, who would actually buy them when the CD Key is already linked to someone elses account?

They can't make a game without a publisher making cd's, and they have to allow the publisher time where they have exclusive distrobution rights. Back when AO's expansion came out there was a similar issue where they couldn't update their online download>trial>buy thing to include it for 3 months I think it was.
From my understanding there were problems with the original distributor, forcing them to go with another almost at the last minute in order to get the game out in time. I'm thinking this is one of the largest reasons why there were so few copies distributed in NA. I'm just glad I was able to get a copy for myself and my brother

This is a prime example of the idiots in upper management. By company policy, we are required to allow people to trade them in.
That said, I don't. Screw 'em. I'm not about to let somebody, who knows full well that nobody can play the game, trade it in. I've made it my personal mission to rid my store of all that crap, regardless of company policy. Especially when it comes to EQ and it's 14 billion expansions. Yeah it's biased, but I know most of these people on a somewhat personal basis, and they all ebay the crap out of their stuff. They don't need more money from their trade-in.
But hey, if you guys have old copies of EQ, DAoC, CoH, Lineage II, AC, AO, EA, etc etc etc, by all means trade them in... (just not to my store
)

I like to patronize my local brick-and-mortar stores (EB Games, etc), but when they don't have something in and aren't certain when they'll get more, I just order it online. That's what I did to get my copy of Ryzom (from EB Games' online store), I don't understand what's so difficult for others to place the order and just have it show up in a couple days (or the next day if you wanna spring for overnight shipping).

NOTE: I AM STATIONED IN KOREA AND I DOWNLAODED AND BOUGHT THE GAME OFF THE LINK PROVIDED ON THE RYZOM.COM WEBSITE. I THEN REGISTERED THE GAME FOR NORTH AMERICA SERVERS. Soo the myth about the download only for certain countries is wrong! Anyone can downlaod the game and register it on any of the servers. In the Config you can change the language to match the server. So please get the game, Game Shop employees go ahead and spread the word that the online downlaod and buys works for everyone. Thanks used caps to grab attention. *hides*

I was lucky enough to find a copy here in the Chicagoland area. Granted, I had to travel 60 miles to get it, but nonetheless, here I am

Due to where I currently live I couldn't very well buy this at a gameshop, so I ahd to download. However, the purchase goes off your billing info which mine is still based in an American bank.
So, I cheated. I listed my country as "United States Virgin Islands". Didn't seem to affect anything, but I didn't have any other way to get the game, I'm so sorry!

Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, Chevy. I probably would've done the same thing had I not been able to track down a copy. You still paid for it, so I say no harm no foul.
Enjoy the game! I know I will tonight!

I've just been informed that CompUSA carries Ryzom as well as our other distributors. You can go to their homepage and check inventory for your closest store too. Here's a link to the list of our other distributors -->
