Good observation, but unfortunately Heretics Hovel is a Red region, and that arma was likely a R1* unless it had migrated from Groves of Confusion (which doesnt have armas) and so would be 50 levels lower than the P1* in Loria and would have resisted less anyways.

Things to do when you boot up Ryzom:
1. while the game is loading, shut down unwanted background apps.
2. Startup wanted background apps
3. set status to .away in Klients
4. check online status on Xfire
5. When ryzom booted, first line in any chatwindow: "/chatLog"

/chatLog also logs your systemwindow...

I did a little experiment last night in Zorai:

I hit about 10 gruff timari with these spells:

1) double eletric - dead in 1 hit
2) double poison - dead in 1 hit
3) double shockwave - dead in 4 hits
4) double fire - dead in 2 hits

I did the same with a few najabs:

1) double electric - dead in 3 hits
2) double poison - dead in 4 hits
3) double shockwave - I died !
4) double fire - dead in 4 hits

So based on past experiences and that little very sketchy test I'm inclined to believe that its more effective to use a race spell for whichever land you are in.

Past experience also leads me to believe that its less important which mob your hunting and more important which land you are in.

Id would be quite interesting to mix double spells a little to see what the effects are.

But as far as im concerned shockwave is terrible in Zorai !

If the race specific spells are best used in thier own land then any advice on what seems "best" in the prime roots? The reason I ask is because we were down in Elusive Forest heading up to Windy Gate yesterday and decided to tangle with a Great Vorax..OMG that thing was hard to kill.

We tried all the elemental spells and they were either ineffective or did pitiful damage. We had a lvl 205 elementalist as our primary nuker and his spells usually make short work of anything we have to fight. The battle lasted a full 15 minutes it was awesome. :)

In my experience the monster resistances apply more than lands uses.

I remember me hunting named Ybers in Fount a lot of time ago, Shockwave was like 75% of full damage, while Fire was 100% damage. Even tough i'm Tryker and i was fighting i Tryker land, Fire was more effective.

A thing i noticed -> Shockwave spell is usually the worst useful of the 7

My experience in the the roots is that everything there is about applying the things you have learn in the other lands.

Najabs - Lightning
Arma - poison
etc....

To extent the thoughts futher....

Have you tried altenating spells

2xFire
then 2xshock
then 2xfire

I have found the if you get a lot of 'unexpected' resists changing spell seems to break the constant resist cycle.

Also after hunting Najabs in one spot of about an hour .... I also noticed you get the occasional one that 'resists everything'.

regarding the PR mobs

yep i usually try to use a spell against the mob in which land it is most prominent in ie.

arma - poison
horncher - shockwave
timari - fire
kincher - lightning
kipucka - fire
cutes - shockwave
etc

the PR only mobs eg vorax, gubani, kidinak i use lightning

seems to work well

kincher - lightning
Kitins resist to all spells ~33% except "Cold"
Less power for mages!
