But at least they wouldn't be able to make any little Meks ;)

Imo would be nice to add animals owner name to animal, like "owners-name's Mektoub" or Mektoub [owner-name], and only then, if same player often and for long time leave packers/mounts and ignore tells "Remove pls ... ", then i agree with subnite's "methods" (not sure or call GM due each mek would be good idea....)

Also/or update msg "You enter xxxx stables" - ".. and use pls "Enter stable" to your animal" (or make this automatic.. Once u enter stables/dismount - animal itself "hides" (or after x min if u use "Leave stable" but dont move meki"
I don't condone and approve that behavior. You may not know if the player crashed
One time i left packers (for ~5 min) near appartaments (items/mats transfer in v. big amount), and when reloged with other char - i dont saw my (other char's) meks and when logined back, after 5 mins, with main char - i packers was on this same place (i suppose they "dissapears" when player loging),.....

Yes, it is right that you only see packers of logged in characters.

When I teleport to Fount I estimate how many ppl are in the region, by counting the packers that are standing behind the karavan tp.

If you stay near a packer crowded spot you may observe that the pop in and out existence.

Your idea with owner named animals sound very nice, so one may see which ppl should be around :-)

Such a behavior is seen as harassment and griefing in my books, and I will hold no respect for players doing that. Other than that, keeping meks where players *please* is within the gameplay rules, and going 'vigilante' is not the way to go.

(I keep my packers IN stables, if you want to know, it's been months since I have taken one out of them)
It gets realy irritating when a mek is in front if the stable boy and you can't select him to dump grind stuff... It should be moved fast, it is a obstruction to others, if that does not happen it is time to blow it up.

This just applies to packers that are preventing players to do things, eg parking it on top of a NPC.

Of course it is irritating, I know. My point is that I'd rather not blow a packer just because thinking that I may kill the packer of an 'innocent' player makes me think twice about the idea ('oh sorry, I blown yours, er.. well I wanted to kill the other one'). I know packers disappear when players logs. What if player crashes? (I have no idea how long it takes to kill a packer, but if this can be done in less than 30 secs, the time that the server still thinks you are there?)

So in summary, I am all for putting the packer owner's name [foobar] near the packer, but still, I don't think I'd blow it up either, it just doesn't feel right to me (of course, it's only my opinion)

Why not have function that makes a Mek entering the stable himself after a defined idletime? As soon as the Mek is in the radius of stable it enters after 6 mins idle...

Guys i know the Packer situation is annoying but can we find something else to moan about , you don't know how much this saddens me to hear you lot moan about something as trivial as packers blocking appartments, just the other day i got more frustrated other the fact players were openly moaning about this , i may of seemed out of order by what i said but can we atleast moan about bigger more heartful problems like this poor real life family watching there kids die from Battons disease sorry for mentioning out of game things here but please feel free to flame me for it and those people who want please visit http://www.jordanjaytrust.com this is after all a game

Well that's killed this thread hasn't it?

I'm not being funny, but with all the horrible things that have happened to me in my life (one brother killed, one disabled among other things) I find it refreshing to moan about minor things of no real consequence.

If we could just loot packers left out in the open then everyone would be happy.

Ok, so I'd be happy :)

Something I have a particular dislike of is something being written off as 'only a game'. People enjoy it, it gives them a break from day to day life, they accomplish things, make friends, construct communities etc etc, play, leisure, breaks from life, wish fulfillment and escapism are all important too you know. :/
