Meki Packers in annoying places..
Meki Packers in annoying places..
I'm am getting to a point where I am so sick and tired of packers standing everywhere, but mostly of those packers that stand in the way of things. I'm Matis and based in Yrkanis and we have BIG meki trouble there.. getting to my appartment can take a few minutes because of all the packers blocking the door, same goes for getting to the stableboy. I just simply can't understand why ppl can't use the stables or at least place their mekis so they aren't in the way for everyone trying to move around in Yrkanis.
Re: Meki Packers in annoying places..
I have been wondering about this myself. Halfway I suppose those Mekies are just the background and not owned by anyone. But if that is not the case, mabe they could add something to their stats to let other players know who a given Mek belongs to. Then one could at least contanct the relevant person and ask them to move their pets out of the way.
Re: Meki Packers in annoying places..
Someone mentioned this in another thread, and it is indeed becoming a bit annoying, especially around the stables. I have to ask that if you're going to be lurking around the stables, please put your packers in the stable and not leave them standing around outside. I believe some people may not realise that you have to actually put your packers in the stable, as the "You have entered x stable" may give a false impression.
The stables have become a real social area and it becomes difficult to find people etc when there are a dozen packers cluttering the place up, plus they tend to get killed by gas clouds when low level foragers are there, so that's a real incentive to not leave them there
With regard to the apartment, I have to confess I have been guilty on occasion of that, but when you're trying to spring clean your apartment it can involve many trips back and forth and sometimes it's just easier to take the packers with you. Having said that, some people do leave them there for days on end, which can become frustrating.

Re: Meki Packers in annoying places..
Yes packers owners need to take more care and thought as to where they leave packers & mounts but have you also seen the growing amount of AFK Players at stables this is getting as bad as Packers at stables lol

Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a Gingo chasing Mektoub. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it. You know, I just ... do things. The Kami has plans, the Kara have plans, God's got plans. You know, they're schemers. Schemers trying to control their little worlds. I'm not a schemer. I try to show the schemers how, pathetic, their attempts to control things really are.
So.....Why so serious?

Hehe, I think the new "/afk" function is only a matter of labelling those who always went AFK before. It does create a good deal of lag & visual disturbance having so many sleeping toons & packers around. For me, the annoyance is mostly a sound one - mektoubs snore like a drunken Tryker sleeping off a barrel of stinga brew (no offense to my Tryker friends, we've all been there to some degree ).
Please be considerate of your animals & your fellow homins! Park your packers, and nap aways from the prime social areas. We wouldn't want to wake you & your hangover .

Re: Meki Packers in annoying places..
Whenever I had the chance to kill a mek at places where it was in my way i did so. At the Yrk stables it should be perfectly possible to kill a few. That will teach those that let them stand around everywhere.

Indeed. I believe Amrathra held a protest over it a few days ago, might be time for another one...

I don't condone and approve that behavior. You may not know if the player crashed, has a bugged mek, or just happened to take it out of stable while he was getting coffee. Such a behavior is seen as harassment and griefing in my books, and I will hold no respect for players doing that. Other than that, keeping meks where players *please* is within the gameplay rules, and going 'vigilante' is not the way to go.
(I keep my packers IN stables, if you want to know, it's been months since I have taken one out of them)

"Would the owner of the... brown Mektoub, please move it front the front of the stables or it WILL be clamped."

I don't know about you guys, but having your mektoub clamped sounds to me something that could really sting and make your eyes water...
