I would go with yes!

Ive only lost one mektoub and that was while mounted on it, i believe the goari went to hit me (did even scratch me) however he managed to fry my mektoub (smell of burning mektoub hair is very unpleasant)

I come to this conclusion because earlier that day i aggroed an varinx running to thesos it hit me several times as it chased me so i dismounted and boosted and put my heavy armor on came back and killed it. However my mektoub was untouched and the varinx could have quite easly mauled her while i was suiting up. So imo i would say yes..

Ive had hours of fun running around on my mount, especially when moving from one harvest area to another, or dropping off orders, makes a nice change from teleporting. Sometimes i feel like teleporting, sometimes I feel like crusing around on my mek.

At first I thought the 10k a pop on food was far too expensive but I need something to spend my money on.

I'd admit they are more novel than anything but you cant argue with choice, if you want a mount (or a pony :p ) you can have one, if you think they are too expensive and of no use you don't have to have one :)

I think mounts are a wonderfull way to spend a dapper surplus quite a few players have. I read speed, fun, convinient in carrying gear.

I like the following idea: When I am able to buy an appartment, I can dump there what I normally have in the packers. Then free the packers, port to fyros, buy a mount and three packers, wear my most fancy black armor and roam the desert. Be a midget Touareg for a few days! I would simply love that!

Ah, the dreams crushed by the urge to lvl crafting....

Love mine, however.

1. Mile per food is terrible (like the idea of forage your own, very much)
2. Level 3 packer should be able to keep up.

Ive ticketed both for improvement and will also ticket for forage own.

Foraging own is a great idea :)

Only you should have to harvest 100 mats for it to be equivelent energy and bulk of bought food :)

Personally I'd say that it should be less bulk etc when foraging food, otherwise what's the point? Sure 10k a feed is a fair bit, but I spend 10 times that a day on tickets.

Bought food = convenient
Foraged food = cheaper and more effective

Oh, and if this is the case, then perhaps it should be non trade too, or do we want a thriving trade in mek food? Could be interesting...
