Random Acts Of Kindness

Post by skylt »

The thing that impresses me most about this community is the unusual amount of random acts of kindness! Many players go out of their way to do good deeds whenever they can. I often see competition as to who will arrive at the scene first to provide assistance.

This applies to not only rezs, grouping, rescues, and in game info, etc.; but also here on the boards.

Many of the guys that talk a tough line here on the boards, are found to be helpful and can be counted on when the need for help arises. ( though they may want to keep this a secret, it's true! :) )

Its a pleasure to participate in this community. :)

Karma. :)

I like helping people, if I can. Lots of people help me out. It's only fair to pass it along to others.

Are you talking about the caravan from matis that got stranded in Lagoons of Loria?

We tried to organize something, but after the second wipe, we realized that we couldn't do it. What made me really happy is that we had 8 people that voluenteered to go help others. They didn't have to, and after the first DP I expected everyone to go back to doing their own thing. But they went back to the Lagoons, and tried again. Certanitly, any comunity with people that would go so far out of their way to help others is quite frankly, super-freekin-awesome. :)

I completely agree. This game has one of the best communities i have come across. I have seen really high lvls helping out the really low lvls (like me ;P) many many times. And it extends out of the guilds w/o question which is just awesome. It really does make the game so much better :D

In response to the ignorant players out there:

I have more heart than anyone would know :) I will let you in on a little secret... I am doing this for my newborn daughter... no one else... I like that game, but I do not have the time anymore. My first priority is to my daughter. End of story.

Well, I understand this is the US server, but here is a little word from the Europeans:
Same here!

We had some homins hunting last week in WoM. Due to some freak accident, the entire team got wiped out and I have to tell you, these are weathered players. I heard their distress calls on region so started moving towards the sculptors camp, evading cloppers and the like.
And then the dreaded text appeared in region: 30sec. Appearantly someone was down for somewhat longer. So I hit "speed" and race to them, but now the best part: while running, I can see coming from my left a high level char that obviously more speed lvls then me racing to the clopper that was guarding the bodies and starts hitting the clopper.
So I am gaining, start looking for the balloons that tell where they are, when I am OVERTAKEN by another very high lvl char that starts healing. I find some bodies, rez them, heal whereever I can because by now the hubbub has caught attention of clopper familie and some ragus. I even die once, get up before I can say "add".

Now remember that this was a team that crossed guilds. It were healers that crossed guild. And when all was said and done we waved, said thanks and so on, and continued digging or whatever.

I played D2 as the last game for online play, Ryzom is my first MMO and I have no intend on switching as for me: it can only be less in other games.

Yeah, we all do our RP bit when we can... but IG nobody likes to allow another homin to die and get DP when you can help... It's also very nice to get help when you pull one too many kincher... good show folks !

Yes, this game is amazing in that respect. Everyone is always really friendly, very mature, and wonderful at helping. People know when to draw the line between RPing and just having a good time and it makes things go by wonderfully. Even PVP, people know when its just fun and when its RP. It's an amazing thing to be a part of.
