Is the Encyclopedia working yet ?
And if it is ,can someoene explain me how it works ?

It doesn't all work *quite* yet but you can do missions to start on filling it out. I think it goes live with the next patch - Jan 6th?

So come join us in the merry madcap craziness of hunting down mission mats!! Run out frantically trying to locate just that certain NPC that will open a new entry, thereby leading to even MORE merry madcap craziness!!! WHEEEE!

Sorry - went off my rocker there, which I admit is pretty gosh darn close to the ground anyway. You know you're hooked when somebody finds the black pigment mission mat and you're thrilled to hear it. (thank you Karu)

I allready have quite a few entrys in my ency.. All I can tell you is to check out every mission you can find =) Even the ones from the Hunters and Journeymen. I also found out that you can get entrys from every different mission type (Harvest, Kill, Delivery, etc) and be sure to check the regions around the mainland...

To my knowledge, the only entry you can't get at this time is the Big bubble entries, atleast not that I have found, so if there are a total of 3 small bubbles and 1 big one, you can do the 3 small, but until the next patch, I doubt you can do the big one, unless I am not of sufficient level to finish it.

Even the outposts in distant area's have pieces to the encyclopedia, if you are of sufficient level to aquire the missions.

If you're a new-ish kinda character, hitting the letter "e" will bring up your encyclopedia so you can check entries after the first pop-up of a new section. I created Soma soon after the game went live in September and I have to go to the Windows icon to click the encyclopedia box to bring it up. Hopefully this will change once the final patch(s) of Chapter 2 are in place.

Not only check out the NPC's that can give you missions but go to others with titles and ask them "who are you". There are some new faces in town and it's worthwhile making note of them.

5 headings, 6 topics, 15/20 mission bubbles, 0/6 rites bubbles (not implemented) and more than a week of doing messenger/crafting (the two I can actually do)/harvesting/hunting missions just around Fairhaven and the Corsair camp...

What am I doing wrong? Is there a minimum faction needed? A minimum level needed? Must I go to more distant zones to find the right NPC's?

The only thing which keeps me playing SoR is the hope that the encyclopedia will be so interesting that I begin to feel an immersion into the lore of Ryzom. I really want to be ready when the next patch goes live. But if I can't get encyclopedia missions or if getting them requires more mind-numbing combat levelling then I'm afraid I'm wasting my time. Any advice?

. As Encyclopaedia comes live, this has an effect on the tasks and missions you might be doing at the moment. As a result of this, we will clear the tasks and missions which are active: New players will receive the Welcomers missions, and players on the main lands will receive introductive missions to rites. Any other open mission shall be cancelled automatically.

I'm sorry as I have mainly found entries within Fyros, and one in Matis. My advice would be to do the missions from the guards (in Fyros, the lowest guard is a corporal) as I've not gotten any listing from the city welcomer at Cerakos gate. There should also be NPC's throughout the city and the surrounding lands that will give missions. Not every misson will open a listing. In fact, my guild made a listing of who gave what missions just within Pyr (the main Fyros city) and would you believe there are about 200-250 missions availiable? Now out of those missions, I thing maybe 10 of them have had anything to do with opening a listing or filling in a bubble. Then again, we have not run them all yet. Now that we have a listing, we can mark them off one by one to see which ones open listings. I can say, that we've found kill missions, retrieve loot missions and crafting missions so far that open listings. I know others have stated that running delivery and harvesting missions also open them up, however that doesn't mean they are easy to find. Oh and as a VERY big hint, talk to the kami and karavan everywhere (or only one if you choose a side) as they will also give entries (sometimes)...

To break it all down, do as many missions as possible everywhere you can and eventually you will open some up. On a side note, If you ever find yourself in Pyr, give me a PM and I'll help you get your first bubble filled (if your fame with Fyros allows you to run the mission that is)
