PvP - Harvester Griefers

Post by dam23 »

Okay so, this is the post where we list the names of people who *intentionally* and *repeatedly* kill harvesters in PvP areas, mostly the roots.
This is not a thread where you're welcome to post the names of guilds which have taken over an area and demand money to let you pass unharmed, since this, is only roleplay.

If we're sort of going to 'police' the PvP zones to make sure harvesters will be left in peace, let's do it correctly :)

Bad idea. Just avoid them. Think of them as really ugly jugulas. No need to blacklist them just because they kill you over and over again. This could result in people who just killed some harvester who just happens to be a prick, getting a bad rep among the rest of the community.

Players policing each other does not work due to the sheer immaturity and stupidity of a large portion of the playerbase.
Am i supposed to write something witty here ?

in my opinion a better way of handling this would be to keep two lists.
one would be a list of individuals and guilds who you regard as friends. you'd also have to make sure that they think the same as you in order to avoid mishaps.
the other would be a list made in the following way: if an individual affects you adversely, talk about their actions with their guild leader. if that results in nothing, put the guild on your list of enemies. in the case of them being guildless, just talk to them directly, and take the same measures as above.

Actually, I believe the most stupid ppl of the shard are already well known, I don't think their word will count for much here, on the forums.

Well just exactly why would anybody want to greif kill a harvester ? surely common sense prevails . There is no honor in killing a defenceless person whom is simply trying to obtain materials to craft with .
We all need good armours , weapons , and these are only obtainable from the best harvested materials . Start greif killing the harvesters , and you may start to find there will be a shortage of decent items coming your way.

several reasons:
1. mental deficiency
2. materials in the roots are now restricted in amount, very restricted. some guilds or individuals might want to have a monopoly on them and when they see someone harvesting "their spot" it's likely they kill first and talk later (or not)

heh if people wanna kill me in roots im far from a defenceless harvester ;) i spend alot of time in there each day spent most of today mapping out material spots from windy gate and so far we made it down past gate of obscurity but as of yet i have seen 2 people in prime roots who arent in the same team as me and thats Gillest and Muff they both being harvesters too had no time for pvp so theres really no need for people to start policing prime roots as theres never anyone there to police :)

The main problem with your proposed lists... By calling a character out and naming them in the forums essentially you are griefing them. If they are acting within the scope of the game rules and not exploiting any bugs, to bring unwanted attention to their character on the forums by denouncing them as a pk constitutes griefing. Keep your own private hitlist, sure, but to keep a public forum-list of "criminal" characters seems somewhat deplorable.
