dissapointing to say the least

Post by edandel »

I just wanted to share my disapointment in the stability of the server and patches in recent times. It is nothing short of being a pain when we have lag, connection, sign in or patch errors (like invisible meks). Who is it possible that in todays day we have such continual issues. Being in the it game for many years I cannot understand wwhy contingency plans are not put in place. Surely there is a test server as to ensure that what gets implemented will work. Or the issue of huge down times when a patch is introduced. I have worked with organisations that transfer terrabytes of information during patches and back ups and in no way are the down times this legnthy. I just hope that someday soon the approach to patches and server stability are addressed. I played in WoW BETA and there was no where near the instability or down times I have experienced here. I really enjoy playing the game and due to time differences I have found myself unable to play. I am looking forward to the patches intended for the game though it makes it a wonder what maybe ahead. If any you have any thought or comments pls feel free to share your point of view.

I've played several MMo's over the past several years, they have all had issues at various times. Lag, zone crashes, long patch times, data issues, the list can get quite long. There are people complaining on the Wow boards about Blizzards poor handling of the servers and issues with lag and other problems. EQII was down for nearly an entire weekend the weekend before last.

I have no problem with customers voicing their disatisfaction with flaws in a company's products. If cutomeres dont' speak out and act, companies get lazy and give poor service. However, I just want people to know that Ryzom is by no means alone in the area of technical problems.

i think they've been good about not having a lot of downtime. all games have problems, i've not heard of one having tons of issues.

problem comes when you have a variety of different systems you have to deal with, if we all had the same computer, the game would be a whole different creature as there's less variables

i'm not upset by the downtime, they try and fix it as fast as possible and don't tell us to get lost

Personally, it has been the in-game support and frequent patches that have kept me here. (Cant forget the players as well) They are making this a better game. They have started broadcasting messages about servers coming down, rather than before when they would just drop out from underneath you.
I just wish they would get that darn content on there!! "Bored" and "grind" is a word that i have heard too often lately because we have been given a taste of this new encyclopedia and now we all want more!
Is it the 6th of January yet?

Show me an MMO that doesn't have these issues. ^.^ dare ya
Ryzom has had issues however they also appear to be correcting them. When I played EQ and SWG, they fixed...let me see...hmmm...
they added stuff....* thinking thinking* did they ever fix the bugs we complained about? ;-)
* giggles *

I am an easy going person so maybe I just don't prearrange a b**ch list and focus on what is not working. I just play and have fun.

Try looking at it like this: ^.^
~The connection lag issues the other night were just the " other night" ....Not " nights" works fine for me now, so no biggie.
~The target names being wrong was entertaining ^.^
~ The new in town graphics and music are pretty
~ the new trade windows...much easier to use
~ PvP in the roots...well, * peers about nervously* ...promotes unity? United we stand ...divided we fall? =/
~ ~ think positive, smile be happy ( don't waste your time grumping and moaning it is bad for your health)
