pvp everywhere ;) no looting or dp then it cant be a bother to anyone

Grieferville IMHO and would destroy any form of Co-op
You are there fighting a Clopper and it is touch and go but you will survive just and then BOOM 2000 points of Magic damage from a player and you die..
Do you get DP? if yes Griefer paradise if no Possible Exploit paradise....

hmmm.. PvP on speciffic areas, however if they only are on say arenas its pointless to me. I want goals to compete for =)

But I guess when the outposts work, I wont bother about PvP at all.. Not sure. My spontaneous response is that stuff like in DAoC would be nice, borderlands with strongholds up for grabs that other playeraces also wants, but then we have the global warmth of Atys that make Matis grab Zora hands and whatever, no rivalry at all as it is hehe, just a nice cudling community, so I guess maybe this game is destined to be a nice PvE.. but that makes the demands for cool environmental activities very large Id say, to keep us all imprisoned in an immersive world.

you havnt tested pvp since the patch then i guess? all damage is lowerd by 50% in pvp now and resistances actually work on fear and other affliction spells that used to be over powerd

i can hit 1820 dmg with lvl 2 fire/fire on mobs but only 910 in pvp

OK, let's lower the damage by 50% then...

"You are there fighting a Clopper and it is touch and go but you will survive just and then BOOM 1000 points of Magic damage from a player and you die..
Do you get DP? if yes Griefer paradise if no Possible Exploit paradise...."

...the problem remains the same.

DAoC is the only system I have come across that caters to everyone. Any new PvP system should look at why DAoC PvP is liked by almost everyone and every other PvP system is hated in one way or another by most.

in my opinion you cant have a game with pvp if its restricted to certain areas unless its just arena's doac pvp was one big arena in essence

if ryzom wanted areas for pvp to be limited why not make guild battle arenas/faction arenas for people to go pvp in instead of harvesting areas?

and i dont think that all out pvp would really matter much to people on arispotle i have seen plenty of people in PR since the changes and no one has even bat an eyelid so i fail to see where the griefers are

when games have all out pvp they usually make it harm your status if you murder other people anyway such as making you attackable by everyone with no penelty to them if griefers come about then they get ganked :)

Personally Faction based with a neutral option, or designated areas would be the best option in my opinion.

While daoc system was OK it still meant to have a better character you had to go to pvp for realm levels and abilities.

As long as the pvp in the game does not negatively affect the pve aspect of it I would be all for it.

I am usually of the opinion that if pvp is included on release or is planned for release, then I do not mind accepting the pvp in a game, but I understand this game released without pvp so Nevrax would have to step carefully and ensure they dont alienate too many customers by veering off the path that they laid out in the games documentation / on the website etc.

I voted for designated pvp areas in case it matters :)

as i understand it there was some moments of all out pvp in beta at the end b4 they wiped the servers for people to go kill each other and have fun so it can be added
