CP is proud to announce a victory for all homins. As some of you may know DoubleTap announced that the Nexus was off limits to all that were not Karavan and from some reports hunted down several Fyros and attacked them. In response CP Ryzom (in full force) moved into Nexus hunted the poor souls down and destroyed them like the dogs they are. All enemys were vanquished and the Nexus is back in the hands of all homins everywhere.

After the beat down several kami/karavan forces had a "Battle Royal" in a near by outpost. Kinda last team standing. 4 teams going at it most teams had 4-8. Ill let others post about that but we all know who won. Hehe

We feel as though areas such as this need to be open to all homins no matter race or who you are.

This morning I made a visit to Nexus after hearing of some conflict in there. Archie and I did some looking around and were eventually taken down by a Boss Cuttler.. when we respawned we met a group of Melinoe at the portal and were in no uncertain terms that if we entered the Nexus we would be killed. At this time we left and started doing some talking (was 2v6 if we stayed), and decided to wait until night for our return.

At 10 est we started our return trip, and after fighting through some server problems , we arrived in Elusive Forest where we encountered Wylkroe.. we then layed some beatings down on him and DT after he arrived, made it clear that our intentions were to make nexus safe for all Homins and entered Nexus. After some pvping around the portal we moved out and set up camp at Umbragate Farm where we encountered some very confusing guild alliance issues.. "Oh sh*t, we can't fight CP." "But we can fight LPD." "Are we allowed to heal Yurt?" "I'm confused."

Melinoe received a couple more reinforcements and we showed them the dirt a few times. Around this time we started getting contacted from everyone. If you don't remember sending me a tell then you must have forgotten about it . A force including The Silver Watch, Veni Vidi Vici, and Pegasus Foundation was rallied and started making their (slow) progress towards Nexus. They were a Karavan force coming to fight against Melinoe and make Nexus available to all.

By the time they arrived we were running slim on forces for both sides of the fight. Some RP was tossed around in region. And then we moved on to the best part of the night. A huge brawl in Umbragate Farm consisting of many different teams of different sizes. I don't know how long this lasted, but I'm guessing close to 45 minutes. I spent a lot of the time trying to get all of Pegasus Foundations healers in the dirt at once. In the end one team was left standing consisting of CP and OmegaV. A great night of fun.

Wait, I am confused only about this one statement:

Please clarify, I know our guild was there to help free the land from tyrany, so I am assuming that you were trying to keep our healers alive, and not take them down.

I am sorry I was unable to help, but the entire thing with Melinoe started around midnight lastnight, and from what you are stating there still trying to make a go at it this morning?

This is the result of open pvp then.

Claiming lands as your own, genetic cleansing of lands.

A player who is not interested in the pvp side, finally works hard, gets to nexus and is killed simply because of the preference he/she made at the start of the game. Isnt that wrong?

Yes, this was going to be happening in events. There is going to be faction vs faction events. But clearly at times when these events arnt on. Maybe there should be an "off" button to say, "im here to dig, i dont care about factions or races generally, i just wanna get a few mats, thats all. I dont want to fight you, and i dont want to be attacked, unless an event comes up that i have interest in"

I am a matis. I dont have a problem with who you are, or what you do. Just as long as you dont attack me for no good unprovoked reason. I like all the players on the Kami side that i have talked with and worked with before the pvp came in, and will continue to do so.

There are a few sides to this coin.
Melinoe has anoyingly tried to claim the nexus for all 'homin' actually, I think more specifically, the Karavan (correct me if I am wrong DT)

Since they put pvp to be leading into war between Karavan and Kami, I think Melinoe theory is that if the Karavan control the Nexus, they have control of the uberloot mats for better armor and weapons, meaning this would put the Karavan at a militaristic advantage.

Another side to the coin, guilds like mine (Pegasus Foundation) are against Tyrany in any form, and we are a multi-racial / faction guild, we have both Kami and Karavan in our guild, so we can not support the singling out that Melinoe is doing by trying to deni the Kami faction people (Zorat and Fyros) from being allowed access to the nexus.

The thing is, PF will fight to keep the Nexus free for all races / factions, because that is our belief.

This is exactly what the devs were hoping for by opening up the Nexus and certain parts of the Roots to open PvP.

This is a distraction from the real Kitin threat that is mounting.

You mise well say Melinoe has declared war on Zorian and Fyros, but I don't know there stance on Matis or Tryker.

On the flip side, we are the anti-Tyrant individuals cleansing the land of this foul placement.

CP did a great job, actually all guilds defending the Nexus did, from Melinoe's new role (which they have solidly chosen), Melinoe I hope you understand what you have done, and what position you just threw your guild into.

Also, I hope you are prepared to suffer the consequences of your actions.
I can see this as one of those never ending conflicts.

All I wanted was peace, everyone to get along, now all I hear are chants of "To arms, To arms, the Melinoe are blah blah blah"

It was actually great fun... though a bit late for most of us. We managed to get about 5 of us passed the 7 CP & 2 Atys Dragoons camping the portal in Unbra. The other Melinoe and OmegaV had to come in from way up north and west to access Nexus to get around the spawn campers.

While we waited for this great battle referenced in the first message, the 9 of them attacked Wylkroe and I again and again on the Nexus ramp. Once everyone was together we had a blast.

Though we were outgunned, it didn't always go CP's way...

Certain factions will always try and use fun things like this to their own ends. This was some of the best fun I have had in while...

Good fun happens when the server crashes and we are all bored.

Would have been nice to have more folks show up, but it was very late for most folks... West coasters were not falling asleep like us

i was part of the second group that arrived late. took us 3 hours to gather forces and make it to the nexus, once we heard of melinoe's ignorant position. we arrived in the nexus to find a couple smak talkers telling us we had no right to be there, blah blah blah


we ask where is this force that wishes to hold claim to the land. a couple omegaV guys make a feeble attempt to stop us, we leave them in the dirt (no rez for you)

with no enemy to beat down for their insulence, and weary and tired from a long trek to get there, we rewarded ourselves with an extremely fun FFA at a nearby borderpost. the FFA was close to an hour long battle and was unbelievably entertaining.

while our team was small in level sizes, we had heart and more importantly good strategy. fist and zen tried repeatedly to take all three of our healers down at once, but we kept moving and rezzing, moving and rezzing. our main fighter saiwin kept risking everything to stop and heal one of us healers back to life, he did it 4 times that i counted, keeping us in the fray much longer than we would have been otherwise. we fough well, we fought brave, but alas we were not strong enough to defeat fist/zen and company.

It was a lot of fun! Unfortunately it was 3am when we arrived and most of the fighting was done, but we did make it in time to show our solidarity and put a good ending on the whole thing.

(Though there have been a lot of good endings lately, I think a bad ending might be in order)

Um.. did I miss something? Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Ryzom just launch open pvp? What does that mean to you? To me, it means that in the zones that this is allowed, you are free to attack who you wish to, anytime you wish to. I was the first person in Nexus after the patch, and spent a bit of time figuring out what "Guild PVP' meant. I killed several folks in friendly combat, and had a great time doing so, until fatigue got the best of me, and I retired to sleep the day away. Why the uproar? Because people are killing people in a PVP zone? Sorry.. you should take your self-righteous indignation to a non-pvp zone if this bothers you that much. . .

If you travel in an open pvp area, you are knowingly entering into a combat situation. Go and RP, go and defend, go and grief.. These are all valid ways of playing there.
