I certainly have no desire to kill harvesters. I'm very leery about PvP in this game. I'm not one to advance quickly, and thus, I'm pretty much cannon fodder to anyone who wants to grief. MMO's are a very bad place for an open PvP enviornment, but that doesn't seem to stop any dev team from trying to force it down people throats.zumwalt wrote:Right now, I am only "aware" of maybe 20 harvestors on the server that I know of that can even harvest the mats, and I know only of about 5 crafters that can use the mats.
I don't think this is any more of an issue right now, than a minute one.
If we were talking about a hundred harvestors who can get the q250 rare uber mats of supreme quality, then it could be a different story.
I can only harvest from around 6:30 PM EST till around Midnight, if I am lucky, and most, if not all harvestors are aware of the others around them and they are curtious.
I don't see greed as being a factor when it comes from one harvestor to another, what I do see is griefers as a factor when it comes to harvesting, as you have seen in this thread, there are a few 'now known' griefers that are looking forward to just being jerks to the harvestors.
There is a difference in battling for the spots because you can pull the mats vs killing someone because they aren't ready for a battle and there harvesting.
Off the top of my head, I can think of a few people in allied guilds who can get to, harvest, and use these new mats, while were talking on the forums.
I seriously doubt any harvestor will go to these spots solo anyway, and will have a guard for the trip, maybe the guard won't stick around, but they will atleast have escort, and knowing most of the player base in these guilds that I do know, even if that harvestor got killed, within 30 seconds to a minute, all of that guild will be rallied and they will most likely hunt down the person, and put them on an constant hunt / kill list.
What I am proposing is a fair system, a way to avoid long days of nothing but griefers, and gather protectors for a common cause.
It doesn't matter to me if you want to begrief the harvestors (although I am one of the harvestors), it will just mean I never put mats on market, and when the griefers stuff breaks, oh well, tuff crap, I don't need the cash, and you will never see any of my items on market, or any of my guilds items for that matter.
The more people can harvest, the more items that will be available, the less people can get, the more likely there going to keep the mats and items to themself.
I am pleased however, that they have devised other forms of PvP that may prove more interesting and better balanced. My tenture in this game will depend on how much fun and entertainment I get from it. I have never found ruining anothers play experience to be enjoyable, but those that do find this so, may very well find themselves playing alone.
