can't launch the client...

oh, it worked fine the first time. but then i patched, and after the game restarted i keep getting the following error message;




....yeah, so now every time i start the client up, it askes me why the program terminated itself. as so;

[edit]okay, i ran the ryzom_recovery.exe, and it worked fine after that...until i patched...then i ran it again and the client worked fine. until another patch...is there supposed to be this many patches? or am does the game just hate me?[/edit]

[edit2]okay, every time i'm at the patch screen or whatever the blasted thing is called, it goes through that fraction thin, you know, the"000/000" number on the screen. it always downloads the 209th one...am i making sense? because it doesn't make any sence to me.[/edit2]

thanks. that kinda worked. but it still messed up. although this time it got to the patch screen rather than just buggering out after that 209th whatchamacallit.

yeah, i thought that, too. so i did it this morning. it didn't work.

turns out the drivers "failed windows logo testing" or some such rubbish. really, i don't give a crap if it failed the damn logo, i just want it to do what it's expected to do. handle graphics and whatnot. i swear i'm never buying a Geforce again.

is there anything else short of buying new hardware that might work? because i'm determined to play this ****ing game.

now that i think about it, that's the integrated card that came with this computer....what the hell? i could have sworn i switched.

Try checkin your configuration again, it worked for me.

ok, if it's the integrated card then it really is just incapable of displaying 3d accelerated displays, the only reason why the dx tests work is coz they fall back to software rendering
as ati cards are generally incompatible with ryzom i'd suggest getting at least a gf4 ti 4200 or higher and running it with the 66.81 drivers
if you DO have another card in your comp go ot the bios and switch the gfx card setting from pci to agp
