Yep Golden rule of Software....
Deliver when promised, make the Promise is as important as the delivery.
Thinks back in time....
Promised Delivery of Patch 1 2-3 weeks from release.
People complained that the game was release too early, still in beta, why should they have to wait.
Patch 1 was delivered late....
Complaints about late delivery and bugs and general whines that other games were better.
Patch 2 delayed by the late delivery of Patch 1 and other issues need fixing that were seen as 'more important'
Patch 2a, b, c annouced
Some complaints, mostly general excitement
Patch 2a delivered on time, with only minor issues.
Some hardware issues and software issues ..... Admin team work their socks off and fix these again in hours, instead of weeks.
Fixes release to most of the issues. Small managable, controlled fixes, no huge game play swings.
We have a 1 week build up before we get the 'real game driven' content!
From this point in .... hold on to you hats becuase once this thing starts rolling it won't be stopped!
