Major chrashing problems

Post by ethan123 »

About 2 days ago Ryzom started crashing about every 5 to 10 min then yester day i could walk about 10 feet then it would crash sometimes it is a windows error message but 75% of the time it is a error message from the game there is an option to Debug but when i click it it says error. again so i cant play for than 10 secs before it locks up...

i'm in the same boat, if i sit still i'm ok but when i move around i start to crash

now at least it gives me a box where i can send an error report, if it doesn't get fixed by today's patch then i'm going to reinstall the game and hope that fixes it

Have you guys tried turning your graphics down to minimum and playing. I get that crash every once in a blue moon. Most of my crashes are due to my Linksys Router until I upgraded my firmware. Anyways I recommend turning your Graphics down or running in open GL which I think runs a little lower than Direct3D. Another option would be to buy more ram. Maybe you dont have enough resources now that the game has had impliments to the graphics in some of the towns, therefor using more system resources and causing the game to crash. If none of the following helps, yes, try a re-install. Im no Bill Gates nor computer wizard. Just trying to help :p .

can't upgrade mem, it's a laptop and i've got 512. worked fine before the patch now it doesn't, my graphics are already turned down

i've updated drivers for everything. i do computer repair and servicing for a living so i know enough to update everything.

i've figured it's either a patch problem or a bad file in my install

Could those of you having trouble send an email to technical-na@ryzom.com? We can troubleshoot more effectively from there.

ok i will if my next couple things don't work, they are patching (haven't tried the 33 patch yet), running the ryzom repair (if patch doesn't work) and then reinstalling game if first two things don't work

My crashes started with Patch 26/27.

The email reponse I got from tech support today says to run ryzom_recover until it 'takes' and cleans up the files. :/

If you have the option, you can try what I tried and got all the changed files from a friend running the game. With each patch, he sends me the changed files and that tends to let me log in maybe 30% of the time.

And yes, 30% is better than 5% which is what my success rate stands at now. Currently, my play time stands at about 2-3 hours every 3 days.

Tin.
