The New Empire!

Post by jdrake »

Guild Description:

The Old Empire is dead, and our people are divided. It is up to the Matis (and our allies) of today to forge a new empire, and reunite our people. We are the ones who will see the return of the Matis and Homin glory to Atys. We are the ones who will tame the chaos that runs rampant across our world. We are The New Empire!

Welcome
This is the place to be to Apply or learn more about the New Empire Guild (Euro Eng server)

We currently hold membership open to all, regardless of nationality in RL or in Game. Though it should be noted we are a primarily Matis guild and will spend the greater portion of our game time on the Matis lands map called 'The Cliffs'.

About the Guild:

The New Empire is both an adventure and a role-playing guild, with emphasis on which left up to members themselves. So, no, you DON'T have to invent a back-story for your character or keep a journal in the Role-play forums. The choice is yours. Members are, however, encouraged to stop by there and keep up to date on who is who and what is what within the guild.

In-Game Aims:
Our in-game aims are largely to have fun, enjoy our game time and relax.

For pastimes, we hunt in various groups and teams, as well as explore the secrets of Atys.
We help people new to Ryzom where we can, how we can. So, even if you don't join the guild, don't be afraid to ask us a question. We'll either know the answer or can point you to someone who should.

Please also read our Code of Conduct, for members, below.

There will be a trial period when you request membership into The New Empire, of 2 weeks. During this time we will see how you behave and make sure that you can work together with the guild and on teams.

Disciplinary actions:

Only one of these, you will be given 3 warnings of inappropriate behavior, after that you will be, sad to have to say this, kicked from the Guild.

Events:
We will be hosting guild only and open events as often as we can organize them. Check our 'Events' forum (coming back soon, with luck)
If you wish to help plan an event or have a suggestion for one contact Sixxus or Lavender, on the 'Main' guild forum, with the details.

Role-play Aims
To members who wish to role play(RP), the info below is of particular importance.

Attitudes:

Toward other Homin civilizations:
It is our duty to see that each of the other Homin civilizations develop to their fullest potential. Trade and friendship with the other Homins is encouraged. We welcome diplomatic relations with other guilds as well.

Toward the Karavan/Kamis:
These, while somewhat chaotic by nature, are a vitally important part of our world. None are to harm or impede upon them, or they will be expelled from our empire, and exiled to the wastes of the Fyros.

Toward non Homin tribes:
Perhaps there may be of some use for these lesser creatures. We should treat them with the respect due all life. But we will make what use of them we can in the coming times.

The New Empire Role-Playing Code of Conduct

In the past some of us have felt that certain role-playing rules needed to be implemented into the game to make it more fun and enjoyable for all the guild members. That way a certain code of behavior could be upheld and respected by all our members, and as a guild we could become an example for others to follow or imitate. However too many rules could ruin and take out the fun aspect of the game, as well as the role-playing freedom that the characters wanted to strive for. So in order for that not to happen our guild will have five simple rules. This might change in the future if the need arises. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now we have these five:

1) Be polite and friendly:

It’s so easy to say ‘please’ (plz) or ‘thank you’ (thx)…or even ‘help plz’…while addressing team members. Simple little acts of courtesy will go a long way to making the guild a friendlier place to be. Oh and don’t forget to say ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ in the guild chat when your coming or going in and out of the game…we all want to hear from you.

2) Watch your language please:

You know what this means, refrain from using any form of rude language. Now if you’re upset don’t bring it into the role-playing world, foul language doesn’t belong here. It’s better to bang on the table at home, or swear your head off in the comforts of your own home in real life, but never print it on your PC in chat. Now you might want to share your frustration because a Yubo just killed you, well you can express your humiliation another way…e.g. ‘damn’, ‘drat’, it’s not fair’ or use a combination of undecipherable symbols that are commonly used to express that your are mad about something. Remember this is a role-playing world, where people from all walks of life and all age groups enter to escape from real life. They don’t want to see your problems in the role-playing world and can easily take offence to your abusive vocabulary. Show maturity please.

3) Your guild needs you:

If you feel the guild is becoming slack, offer ideas, make contributions; don’t complain that nothing is happening and it’s all so boring. You have an imagination, offer your ideas, get people together make friends and go on adventures…make it fun. This game offers all the tools, so make the most of it. Remember you can write up your ideas and post them here in the forum, that’s what it's here for…or PM Myself, Liath/Lavender or Fireclaw to get our attention. Go for it!

4) Role-players:

For some, this is a role-playing guild, so be sure to know who we are, as far as possible. You might like to keep a list even out of game and write little comments about who you meet. Learn what you can about Ryzom and why things are happening; check the official site and this site for updates. Finally, who are you? Make some notes about your in-game character; you might like to write a story, we’d all love to read about you.

5) Have fun:

Isn’t that what it’s all about.

With respect,
Regent Sixxus
